Brandon Young will start Saturday’s game against the Reds.

Young will be making his MLB debut against Cincinnati. The 26-year-old has forged a 2.76 ERA and impressive 0.92 WHIP over three starts with Norfolk; thanks in large part to a 17/2 K/BB over 16 1/3 innings. He’d be a risky streaming option, but Baltimore should be able to give him some run support for those hunting for a win.

Cardinals re-signed WR Greg Dortch to a one-year, $3.3 million contract.

Kyler Murray retains his shifty slot receiver. Dortch flashes fun talent at times but has largely settled into a complementary role at this point. He caught 37-of-46 targets for 342 yards and three touchdowns last season and has a chance to produce similarly this year. Should Marvin Harrison Jr. make a second-year leap, Dortch’s target share will likely be impacted, though.

ESPN’s DJ Bien-Aime reports that the Texans are “expected to add receivers” in the 2025 NFL Draft.

The Texans’ wide receiver group is murky beyond star No. 1 wide receiver Nico Collins. Stefon Diggs departed via free agency, and Tank Dell’s expected return date remains unknown following his 2024 knee dislocation and multi-ligament tear. The team initially addressed the effective losses of their Nos. 2 and 3 wide receivers by trading for former Jaguars slot receiver Christian Kirk and signing both Justin Watson and Braxton Berrios, who is recovering from an ACL tear of his own. Kirk is currently penciled in as the second-most fantasy-relevant player in the group, but the Texans’ reported intent to draft multiple wide receivers this year could reduce Kirk’s fantasy potential. While Collins remains a safe bet to return WR1 value, Kirk’s weekly WR4/flex performances could become slightly more volatile due to increased target competition.

Mariners signed RHP Zach Pop to a minor league deal.

Pop was released by the Blue Jays at the start of April. The 28-year-old has had some success in the majors, but has struggled over the last two seasons. Seattle’s bullpen has struggled in 2025, so they’ll look and see if they can turn him into something useful for a very low price.

Jake McCarthy (hand) is hitting eighth and playing center against the Cubs on Friday.

McCarthy will get his first action since Sunday after being plunked in the hand. The outfielder has scuffled with the bat in 2025, but the D-Backs will give him a shot to turn it around before handing the job full-time to Alek Thomas.

The Athletic’s Jeff Zrebiec reports there’s “certainly been dialogue with other teams” about Mark Andrews.

Zrebiec couches this in a prediction that the Ravens will trade Andrews during the draft, but the way it is framed suggests the reporter doesn’t necessarily believe it will happen, as he says it “doesn’t feel likely.” The Ravens, per Zrebiec, want “strong value” in return for Andrews. With both Andrews and Dallas Goedert reportedly available, teams looking at the veteran tight ends are probably dealing from a position of strength at this point. Andrews remains a name to watch as we head into the final week before the draft.
