Best NFL Monday Night Football Player Prop Picks
Making NFL MNF player prop picks this week is perhaps the most interesting and unique prospect of any matchup this season. That’s primarily due to the fact that these are two teams that aren’t exactly littered with household names.
While Browns RB Nick Chubb is one of the most talented backs in the league, several knee injuries have slowed him down. Along with Cleveland trading away WR Amari Cooper earlier in the season, their weapons are few and far between. However, it is worth noting that this will be a revenge game for Browns WR Jerry Jeudy.
Although he didn’t make the cut for your NFL MNF player prop picks, we’ve still found two spots that we love.
Browns vs. Broncos Player Props: Devaughn Vele Over 30.5 Receiving Yards (-115 at BetMGM Sportsbook)
First up is a player that we’d bet quite a few fans have never heard of before. Broncos WR Devaughn Vele is a seventh-round rookie that had been flying under the radar until quite recently. Of course, it also doesn’t hurt that QB Bo Nix has been playing lights out recently (six touchdowns, no interceptions the last two games).
Vele has been the beneficiary of Nix’s development, recording 39, 66 and 80 receiving yards the past three games. As you can see, not only are all three of those values over this week’s line, but they are steadily increasing. There is also further reason that we are targeting Vele.
If there is one glaring weakness of the Cleveland Browns defense that can be exploited, it’s the fact that they’ve allowed the seventh-most fantasy points to the TE position. Well, Denver lacks in that department; however, that’s where Vele comes in - to exploit the middle of the defense like a TE would in their offense.
He also has the explosiveness to surpass this line in one catch, as he’s had long receptions of 24 and 33 yards the past two games. It’s not the most popular name on the field, but we’re starting our NFL MNF player prop picks with Devaughn Vele over 30.5 receiving yards (-115 at BetMGM Sportsbook).
Browns vs. Broncos Player Prop Bets: Jerome Ford In The Passing Game
Now, the addition to our NFL MNF player props is one that we don’t have a line for at time of writing, but it’s such a valuable approach that we still want to share it with you. Overall, the Denver defense has been fantastic against the RB position.
Well, that’s what you would assume looking at simply raw rushing yards allowed per game. They are undoubtedly strong in that department; however, they have been exploited in terms of RBs coming out of the backfield for dump-down passes.
While the Broncos have allowed sixth-fewest rushing yards per game, they have allowed the fifth-most receiving yards to the RB position. Somewhat like Denver lacking in the TE room, Cleveland is when it comes to pass-catching RBs. It’s not what Chubb is known for, but it's a role that backup RB Jerome Ford can certainly fill.
Ford has had eight targets over the past three games, and it makes sense that they’re saving Chubb for rushes given his injury history. We only expect the receptions line to be at 1.5 and receiving yards lines to be well under 20, if not single digits at BetMGM Sportsbook, which is why we’re suggesting it as an addition to your NFL MNF player prop picks.
