NBA DFS Playbook November 30: Anthony Edwards Takes Off Against Grizzlies

Chalk of the night. Haliburton has gone for 60+ in two of the last three games and now he returns to Sacramento in a late-night hammer contest with a 243 game total. Haliburton has has a 23.8% usage rate with a team best 1.39 FP/Min on the season. Kings are allowing the fifth most points to the point guard position this season.

No Ben Simmons tonight. With Simmons off the floor Irving has a 29% usage rate and gets a nice little bump with his assist rate. We've avoided playing Irving this year because the production hasn't met the price tag but on FanDuel where he is just $7,800 makes for an interesting play. Especially because he has the ability to pop. 

Simons scored 37 points last night. He dropped 38 points two games prior. We've seen the ceiling. I worry a bit that this is a back-to-back and the Lakers will have Patrick Beverely in their lineup as well. We know he can pop, but usable only has a contrarian play.

We love using guards against the Knicks. Jalen Brunson is an undersized guard which should allow for Jrue to take advantage of this matchup. We were happy paying more for him earlier this season and with the Khris Middleton return looming there will only be so many slates where his usage rate is this high. 

He just dropped 31 points in 25 minutes against this same team the other night and has gone for 45+ FP in three of the last four games. Can the Rockets stay in this game long enough for Murray to hit value? We like the spot. 

With Gilgeous-Alexander ruled out tonight we should see Giddey be the regular point guard against the Spurs tonight and that means we have a legit triple-double potential here. At his price tag he figures to be one of the highest rostered players on the entire slate.

If not stacking the Pacers/Kings then this Spurs/Thunder game is one to target. We have two teams that score and play little defense. We got a ceiling game from Jones the other night as he went for 50+ FP. Price is up, I like him in game stacks. 

Sexton continues to start for Mike Conley and is really finding his stride. We are getting near 6x return on his price point and this is a decent matchup against a Clippers team that is on a back-to-back.

CJ McCollum has been ruled out again. Alvarado will draw the start against for the third straight game. When the Pelicans are in a competitive game I think we can get 20-to-25 FP here from Alvarado. My issue is the low volume on the scoring but the assists and steals are nice. 

Karl-Anthony Towns is out for the next few weeks. The T'Wolves are also without Jordan McLaughlin and Taurean Prince. Nowell is an absolute bucket and though he didn't start the other night he still saw 25 minutes off the bench and dropped 34 fantasy points. Earlier this year he gave us six straight games with 20+ fantasy points while never playing more than 25 minutes. 

As long as Chris Paul is out of the lineup then Devin Booker always deserves some contrarian GPP love. Nobody is going to play him but he just gave us yet another 70 FP performance, his second in six games. If you pick the right night where he pops off then he offers great leverage on the field. 

Beal has been good since his return to the lineup for the Wizards. He wasn't a big part of their blowout win over the T'Wolves the other night but he dropped 45, 51 and 47 the previous three games. If you worry about one thing tonight it would be the Royce O'Neale matchup for Beal tonight.

Cover of the playbook. He gets the biggest usage bump and averages the most fantasy points per minute with Towns off the court this season. Edwards is averaging 40 FP over the last six games and we are looking at a game with a 231 game total.

More exposure to this Spurs/OKC matchup. Vassell has been the most consistent players for the Spurs this season, averaging 35 fantasy points over the last four games.

They don't touch his price tag so I will just continue to paly him and get my 35 fantasy points. He has a 50 FP ceiling and he can hit it any night. Over the last four games he is averaging 38.8 FP per game.

It's not just a revenge game for Haliburton as the Kings also traded Hield and tried to trade him a few times during his tenure. We got a ceiling game a few nights ago against the Nets. 

Pick the right night and you may find yourself with a 7-8x return on his price tag. You may also end up with 3x return.  GPP only play due to the volatility. 

The Heat have a few guys questionable and the Celtics are going to be back to full strength. We've seen the ceiling Tatum can have when games are competitive, the issue is that not many teams are hanging with Boston right now. I like him more for cash games but he is certainly viable in GPPs.

Until he gets in that $9k range I'm willing to run out DeRozan, especially in games where we should have a nice back and forth matchup. The Mikal Bridges matchup could be a tough test but DDR is filling the stat sheet and has a high scoring ceiling. 

He popped against the Bulls last game out. He has multiple 40 fantasy point efforts over the past week. The Clippers front court is not great defensively as we saw last night with Jerami Grant and Jusuf Nurkic having good games. In two games against the Clippers this season he is averaging 42 FP.

He popped for 50 FP against the Lakers the other night thanks to a big fourth quarter. The Thunder certainly present another matchup where Johnson can have success but his shooting has been dreadful of late as he is shooting just 28.4% from the floor and 16.7% from three-point range over the past five games.

With SGA off the floor Dort has a 26.7% usage rate while averaging 1.02 FP/Min. This is a great price and a good spot for him to give us 30+ FP given the matchup against the Spurs.

I'm a sucker for Royce O'Neale. He fills the stat sheet. He gives you defensive stats and now they are without Ben Simmons. We could see a near double-double tonight against the Wizards.

With McCollum and Ingram out tonight we should see another night of 25-to-30+ minutes. In the last three games where he played at least 25 minutes we got 33.5, 28.75 and 44.5 DraftKings points.

He continues to start and play big minutes. I love that we've gotten four straight games with 10 shots for Winslow as the potential for scoring only raises his ceiling.  We have double-digit rebounds in two of the last three games.

Likely moves into the starting lineup with Towns now out. He's never been my favorite player but he, like Royce O'Neale an Justise Winslow is a player that will fill the stat sheet and give some defensive stats to help the overall production.

Giannis went for 30 points, 14 rebounds and nine assists in the Bucks first meeting with the Knicks this season. We also love taking star players when they are playing in Madison Square Garden.

We've talked about this before but with Ben Simmons off the floor we just get a higher ceiling for Durant as his rebound and assist totals go up.  I don't mind the spend up here on this big slate.

He has the highest usage rate and fantasy point per minute production with McCollum and Ingram off the floor this season. I liked him better when he was under $8,000 but he showed a 50 FP ceiling the other night in this same spot. 

We love Jackson for his upside.  We got 30 minutes for the first time this season the other night but we didn't get the defensive stats we've been accustom to seeing.  I don't mind going back to this well as long as he stays under $8,000 as he has already shown us a 50 FP ceiling.

Tougher matchup but as long as Lillard is out of the lineup we know the shots are going to be there from Grant and he is not afraid to take them. With Lillard out of the lineup this season Grant has a 27.4% usage rate with a 1.06 FP/Min.

Going to be a very popular play tonight with Gilgeous-Alexander ruled out. We know Williams can score the basketball but like all rookies he goes through the ups and downs. With SGA out there are plenty of shots that need to go elsewhere and we are excited to see if the Thunder's first round pick can take advantage of the opportunity. 

You could also play Doug McDermott here but with Sochan ruled out we likely see KBD in the starting lineup. We've seen him fill the  stat sheet when given starter minutes this season.

Joker nearly triple-doubled against the Rockets in 27 minutes the other night. He's got double-doubles in five straight games. He has dropped at least 31 actual points in three of the last four. This is a smash matchup for him but will the Rockets stay competitive enough for him to hit his ceiling. 

Still giving us nearly 60 FP even with LeBron James back in the lineup. As long as he is healthy and playing at this level then I will have interest at this price point as long as he stays under $11,000.

Sabonis is averaging 43 FP over the past five games. Sabonis has double-doubles in four of the last five games and during that stretch he is nearly triple-doubling as well. Revenge game for him facing his former team in the Pacers who traded him to the Kings.

Turner gets to run up against his old front court teammate in this one. We've gotten those ceiling level games from Turner in three of the last four. One has to assume he will be a bit motivated here tonight. 

Really like the price tag on DraftKings. No Towns should mean we get more minutes from Gobert here tonight at the center spot. We talked on the podcast how the T'Wolves would run rotations that included Towns at the center spot. With Towns out there should be more rebounds and paint scoring chances for Rudy. 

Claxton has dropped 38 FP or more in three of the last four games. He has played at least 28 minutes in all four of those contests. With Ben Simmons ruled out there is more room for Claxton in the paint and he has double-doubles in three of four. 

GPP dart throw. If you know you know. 

Will he play 30 minutes? Sometimes he does and other times he gets benched at half time. GPP only play because of the playing time inconsistency but this is a smash spot for Poku if we can get him to stay on the floor. 

With Poeltl ruled out we are expecting Collins to start. We've been smashing with centers against the Thunder this season and Collins has been a high fantasy point per minute player this season.
