NBA Best Bets Today, 11/27: Picks, Predictions & Player Props - Wednesday

Welcome to the NBA Best Bets today for Wednesday, November 27th. Three NBA player props dominate today’s column, and we start off with a familiar face. A player that won us eight bets in a row last year, and 13 out of 15 in a five-week period. Yes, my friends, it’s time to turn to last year’s well for our NBA picks. Bet Smart, Be Lucky - Iggy
*All odds accurate at time of writing and NBA best bets to be placed at 1 unit unless specified otherwise
NBA Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 11/27
One of three bets cashed in yesterday, but the one that did was at plus odds. Therefore the impact was minimum, just under a unit loss total. Chris Paul barely did anything, and Anthony Davis was three points away from his point total in an embarrassing loss for the Los Angeles Lakers.
Rudy Tomjanovich taught us to never underestimate the heart of a champion, and Doc Rivers put on a marvelous coaching display without Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Bucks won by three points and if you waited to take the moneyline until after the news Antetokounmpo was out, well done! The odds jumped significantly from what was already a plus odds straight bet.
Raptors vs. Pelicans Prediction: Wednesday, 11/27
*Bet Of The Night
Welcome Back, Mr. Scottie Barnes. Not just to the column, but to the NBA. Any fan of good basketball can appreciate the style and effort that Scottie Barnes displays. He does whatever is needed to help the Toronto Raptors get a victory.
One night it could be him being the top scorer on the floor, the next night it could be him being a court general - dishing out passes to the mismatches. The following game it could be that they need him crashing the boards, and he can walk away as the leading rebounder for both teams.
His minutes, points, and rebounds have increased in every game since his return on November 21st. In his most recent game his stat line was; 37 minutes, 31 points, 12-26 field goal rate, 14 rebounds, 7 assists, and 3 made three point attempts. It is safe to say he is healthy and back to playing at an elite level.
Today, Scottie Barnes and the Toronto Raptors play the New Orlean Pelicans at the Smoothie King Center. Two out of Barnes’ last three games have been on the road and that has never hampered his statistics. He earned a double-double against the Detroit Pistons in his most recent game, and the Pelicans do not have nearly as good a front court as the Pistons.
The expectation is for Barnes to have 10+ rebounds in addition to 20+ points. However that is a benefit from a player that led the league in triple-doubles for a brief moment last year. He can get 10 or more points, rebounds, or assists against any team, on any night. This bet doesn’t care which two stats get to 10, it just needs two… and Scottie Barnes is the guy to do it.
- Expert NBA Pick: Scottie Barnes to Record Double-Double (+225 on DraftKings Sportsbook)
Heat vs. Hornets Prediction: Wednesday, 11/27
Brandon Miller makes his first appearance on Fantasy Alarm NBA Best Bets, and for good reason too. The man has been a rebounding machine. In his last three games he has a combined 28 rebounds, with totals of 10, 11, and 7.
His line is lower due to the fact that the Hornets big men have been injured. Nick Richards, Mark Williams, and Miles Bridges have been injured, but could make a return this week. However, that does not deter us from betting on the starting shooting guard’s rebounding abilities.
Miller has played over 38 minutes in his last four games, and five of his last seven. In addition to the aforementioned injuries, Tre Mann is injured and Seth Curry (Miller’s backup) is not taking away minutes from Miller.
Although only 22 years old, Miller is a fundamental piece of what the Hornets have going forward. Look for the young man to continue to see several minutes and cover his rebounding line of 5.5 with a double unit hammer.
- Expert NBA Pick: Brandon Miller Over 5.5 Rebounds (-155 on DraftKings Sportsbook) – 2 Units
Best NBA Prop Bets & Other Picks Today, 11/27
Scottie Barnes may have been the well last year, but this year it is big man Nikola Vucevic. The Montenegrin has been building our bankroll better than a bricklayer in the early 20th century. We return him again today for a plus odds prop.
Bulls vs. Magic Prediction: Wednesday, 11/27
We can’t quit you Nikola Vucevic nor this prediction. Vucevic only made 1 three in his most recent game against the Washington Wizards, but we did not bet on him during that match. The four games prior to the Wizards, he made two or more threes in every game, and we bet on him to do so.
Today, the Chicago Bulls travel to the swampy state of Florida to take on the Orlando Magic, where Vucevic played nine years. In total he played 591 games for the Magic, and was in the era of great centers for Orlando; Shaquille O’Neal, Dwight Howard, and Nikola Vucevic.
All three failed to bring The Larry O’Brien to Orlando, but all three were also elite all-stars during their time there. Vucevic is still loved by the Orlando community, and needless to say he feels comfortable at the Kia Center. And Being comfortable is one of the most important factors for making 22/23 foot field goal attempts.
Trust the big man to keep being The Well for Fantasy Alarm NBA Bets. We put the bucket down, he fills it up, and we get a drink of that delicious cool water… and it always delivers.
- Expert NBA Pick: Nikola Vucevic Over 1.5 Threes Made (+155 on BetMGM Sportsbook)

Player News
Buddy Hield had 15 points (5-of-14 FGs), three rebounds, one assist, one steal and four three-pointers against the Timberwolves in Game 2 on Thursday.
Hield moved into the Warriors’ starting lineup in the first round and the team became somewhat reliant on his scoring. With Stephen Curry (hamstring) out in Game 2, Hield started and played 29 minutes. The 32-year-old shooting guard led the Warriors in field goal attempts, though no one in a Golden State uniform was able to reach 20 points. The Warriors weren’t able to overcome a double-digit first half deficit. Despite the four made three-pointers, they’re going to need more from Hield as the series shifts to Golden State, especially if Curry remains out.
Jimmy Butler had 17 points (6-of-13 FGs), seven rebounds, four assists, one steal and two three-pointers against the Timberwolves in Game 2 on Thursday.
Butler couldn’t get it done without Stephen Curry (hamstring) on the road in Game 2. The Warriors fell behind by double-digits early and never recovered. Butler had 17 points on 13 shots, which wasn’t far off from the 20 points he had in Game 1. Still, the Warriors have to regroup as they head home for Games 3 and 4 as they try to figure out a way to keep this series close until Curry can return to the court.
Nickeil Alexander-Walker had 20 points (7-of-13 FGs), two rebounds, three assists, one block and four three-pointers in Game 2 against the Warriors on Thursday.
Alexander-Walker was a key scorer off the bench in Game 2. He, Naz Reid and Donte DiVencenzo combined for 10 made three-pointers off the bench. In a game where the Warriors were desperate for scoring without Stephen Curry (hamstring), those bench points were too much to overcome as the Timberwolves won by 24 points.
Julius Randle had 24 points (10-of-17 FGs), seven rebounds, 11 assists and one three-pointer in Game 2 against the Warriors on Thursday.
Randle led the Timberwolves in scoring in the Game 2 victory. The 30-year-old power forward was just three rebounds away from a triple-double. He was a steadying presence in his 33 minutes as Anthony Edwards dealt with an ankle injury towards the end of the first half. Edwards recovered from his injury to play 34 minutes, but Randle is still the next most important player in this series for the Timberwolves.
Anthony Edwards had 20 points (6-of-13 FGs), nine rebounds, five assists, three steals, one block and two three-pointers in the Timberwolves’ 117-93 victory over the Warriors in Game 2 on Thursday.
Edwards appeared to suffer a sprained left ankle towards the end of the second quarter as the Warriors’ Trayce Jackson-Davis landed on his foot. Edwards turned the same ankle in the first round against the Lakers and appeared to re-aggravate the injury. The 23-year-old shooting guard would go on to start the second half and play a team-high 34 minutes in the Game 2 victory. Edwards will only have one full day off before the series resumes in Golden State for Game 3 on Saturday.
Warriors will start Brandin Podziemski, Buddy Hield, Jimmy Butler, Draymond Green and Quinten Post in Game 2 against the Timberwolves on Thursday.
No surprise here as Curry was always a long shot to make it back for Game 2 after leaving Game 1 with hamstring injury. While there has been a report that the 37-year-old point guard is expected to miss a week, there is no firm timetable for his return. The Warriors will go big with their starting lineup for Game 2 with center Quinten Post entering the lineup in Curry’s absence.
