NBA Best Bets & Player Props November 10: Bet on Jrue Holiday and Anthony Edwards Plus More Top Picks

Happy Friday everyone, the weekend kicks off with wonderful NBA action. Play-in games are back, and the previous play-in games had close, down to the buzzard action. There are nine games tonight, one per Eastern group, and two per Western group. The marquee games on ESPN are Brooklyn Nets @ Boston Celtics at 7:30 PM ET, followed by the LA Lakers @ Phoenix Suns with a 10:00 PM ET tip-off. The Minnesota Timberwolves have been on a tear, and travel to play the rookie sensation, Victor Wembanyama, in San Antonio. The New Orleans Pelicans travel to the red-hot Houston Rockets, and the Memphis Grizzlies are favorites at home against the Utah Jazz. These games could be closely contested, and we should see healthier lineups than the previous two days. Tonight’s Fantasy Alarm NBA Best Bets include a bet on Celtics point guard, Jrue Holiday, who is a clutch performer in big games. It features another prop on Anthony Edwards, leader of the Timberwolves who took down each conference’s proposed champion. It also focuses on a moneyline in the marquee matchup tonight of Lakers vs Suns. A gain of over three units is possible with a sweep.
NBA Best Bets & Player Props November 10th
BET OF THE NIGHT
Jrue Holiday OVER 5.5 Assists -120 DK 2 Units
Jrue Holiday may have not been happy with being traded, but he is still leading a team to success. He has so much shooting talent around him the assists can add up quickly; Jayson Tatum, Jalen Brown, Kristaps Porzingis, and Al Harford can still expose a bad matchup. This is a point guard’s dream, despite J. Holiday having eleven or more points per game, he is still a pass first point guard. He had ten assists against the Brooklyn Nets in their meeting this past saturday, and the Nets do not play aggressive defense. It should be an easy cover for a prop, as winning the first play-in tournament only adds to the Celtics legacy, a legacy the current core players are desperately attempting to join.
PROP BET OF THE NIGHT
Anthony Edwards OVER 32.5 Points + Assists -105 DK
Anthony Edwards (ANT) has arguably been the best player in the Association this season. In a new age era of rest, recovery and taking not only games off, but plays off, ANT is a true throwback. He played 79 games last season, and the games off came at the end of the year. He takes down the best in the league, and has played 33 or minutes in all but one game this season. The 2020 first overall pick is a special talent, and his assists have improved this year. He is averaging 5.3 assists per game which would outpace his best season, by almost an assist per game. But the young man can still score at will too, and displayed it with three 30+ games this season. ANT has covered this prop in three straight games and four of his last five, trust it near even odds.
STRAIGHT BET OF THE NIGHT
Phoenix Suns Moneyline -165 MGM
Both of these teams have not lived up to early seasons expectations. Although when you have two of the three best players of their era, the expectations are going to be high. The Suns are 4-4 and the Lakers are 3-5. This will be their first play-in game and both have superstars to help them win. However, the Lakers have been blown out of the water with LeBron James on the bench. The King’s +/- is +29 this season, implying when he is on the floor the Lakers do well, but just implode with him off. The Suns have been playing with incomplete lineups and asking Kevin Durant to shoulder a lot of the load. Devin Booker is not expected to play, but Bradley Beal is and that is a huge boost to their team. The Lakers’ Anthony Davis is questionable and he has not been playing well through injuries. The Suns should win this game with the purple court and “El Valle” City edition jerseys.

Player News
ESPN’s Shams Charania reports the Celtics have converted two-way G JD Davison to a standard contract.
Davison was drafted 53rd overall in 2022 and has been with Boston his entire career, though he has spent most of his time with their G League affiliate in Maine. He has made 15 appearances in the NBA this season and will likely play a significant role in the regular season finale on Sunday. The 22-year-old will remain with the Celtics on a standard deal heading into next season, but he will likely spend most of his time in Maine once again.
Jaylen Brown received pain management injections in his right knee but is expected to be ready for the first round of the playoffs.
Brown, who has missed Boston’s last two games and will remain out for the season finale on Sunday, will have nearly two weeks between his final regular season appearance and Game 1 of their first round series. They will host either the Magic or the Hawks in the first round. It isn’t a good sign that he had to receive injections, but at this point, it isn’t expected to impact his postseason availability.
Dorian Finney-Smith shot 6-of-9 from the field in Friday’s win over the Rockets, scoring 18 points with three steals and six three-pointers in 30 minutes.
Friday’s victory secured the three-seed in the West for the Lakers, which would mean a second-round matchup with Houston if both teams got out of the first round. For that reason, Finney-Smith’s last two performances against the Rockets were notable. After shooting 6-of-11 from three in the Lakers’ March 31 win over Houston, he was 6-of-8 on Friday. From a fantasy standpoint, Finney-Smith provided the three-pointers and steals on Friday that many managers expect from him. We’ll see if he plays against Portland on Sunday, as nothing will be on the line for the Lakers.
Austin Reaves tallied 23 points (9-of-15 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), seven rebounds, six assists, two steals and three three-pointers in 33 minutes in Friday’s win over the Rockets.
Luka Doncic recorded 39 points (13-of-19 FGs, 8-of-14 FTs), eight rebounds, seven assists, one steal and five three-pointers in 31 minutes in Friday’s win over the Rockets.
Reed Sheppard amassed 14 points (5-of-14 FGs), three rebounds, five assists, two steals, one block and four three-pointers in 41 minutes in Friday’s loss to the Lakers.
