As the season starts, the game instantly changes with injuries. Week 1 was filled with some of the most gut wrenching scenes and news about players going down with injury. Rookie Julius Randall suffered a season ending injury in his first ever regular season NBA game. No one wanted to hear of any injury from the loved Derrick Rose, yet here we go again. In a unique start to the season, injuries have been forcing teams to delve into their bench, and the results have predictably been poor. The thing that really stands out here to me is the fact that many of the players taken in the first 3 rounds of fantasy drafts are already down and out. Having patience is becoming mandatory. It's a long 82 game season.

There are only 2 teams left relatively injury free - the Sacramento Kings and the Utah Jazz.

What do we do next? Perhaps you should look to the rookies which I wrote about last week. With playing time opening up, especially on clubs like the Pacers, Thunder and Lakers, there should be some easy grabs out there for the taking if you are proactive. Let them do the work while you are able to watch the progress of your injured stud. There is also the waiver-wire to look through as you try to make up for the loss of your stud player who might be out for a long while.
