2022 Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Week 13: Victor Oladipo Is A Top Pickup For Miami Heat
The Brooklyn Nets are going to have to re-organize their offense a bit with Kevin Durant sidelined with a knee injury for the next few weeks and T.J. Warren was brought up as someone to add off the fantasy basketball waiver wire a few weeks ago and he’ll need to play a bigger role on both sides of the ball until Durant is ready to return. Another member of the Nets to keep an eye on is Seth Curry because he could find himself getting more shots, but, he’s very scoring dependent and the Nets have a bunch of other shooters. Here are a few players you can look to add to your fantasy NBA teams for this week’s fantasy basketball waiver wire report.
Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Pickups
Victor Oladipo, SG/SF, Miami Heat – 50% rostered
A few fantasy basketball players have reached out and asked about adding Oladipo and if he’s still available out there, he should absolutely be added. Oladipo has been running the floor better, consistently playing more than 25 minutes per game and the Heat always have players who are banged up. He’s scoring nearly 11 points per outing and is posting three boards and dimes per battle. He’s scored at least 12 points in four of his last five battles. He’s attacking the rim more aggressively and taking more contact signaling that he is healthy. We’ve seen him take 10 or more shots in five straight games. He gets time to run the offense with the Heat reserves and he’s dished four or more dimes in four of his last five and produced three multi-steal outings during that group of games. He’s averaging 1.7 steals per game this season.
Kevon Looney, C, Golden State Warriors – 43% rostered
The Warriors have a lot of injuries up front, and Looney is forced to play more minutes helping Draymond Green in the post. He’s played no fewer than 25 minutes in each of his last five contests and pulled down at least 11 rebounds in all five games. The lack of frontcourt depth puts the Warriors in a tough spot, but Looney has been coming through despite not being a consistent double-digit scorer. He’s a complete low block inside player that won’t stretch the floor but Green compliments him nicely because he can hit long-range shots drawing bigger defenders to the elbow and arc and Green would rather pass anyway and if bigger defenders are drawn out, Looney will have an easier time gaining position in the lane. Looney has also blocked shots in two of his last three and stole the ball in both of his last two contests.
Kyle Anderson, F, Minnesota Timberwolves – 32% rostered
Karl-Anthony Towns doesn’t seem close to returning to action and Anderson should still regularly play into the 30’s until he returns as he has in four of his last five battles. He doesn’t take a ton of shots, but he’s been efficient since returning from injury shooting 50 percent or better from the floor in five of six games since returning. He’s been a bit more helpful on the glass grabbing more rebounds and what’s good about Anderson is that he isn’t stationary when he plays off the ball. He’s constantly moving around the court to find higher-percentage shots or to draw the opposition to a certain side of the court. Anderson’s ball movement has benefitted his production and he’s dropped at least five dimes in four straight contests. He swiped eight balls during that span of games and he’s even blocked shots in three straight contests. He’s been producing in multiple categories and his value is safe until Towns returns.
Daniel Gafford, C, Washington Wizards – 40% rostered
The Wizards have been experimenting with different lineups lately and they’ve been utilizing their size more starting both Kristaps Porzingis and Daniel Gafford and Gafford has been productive since entering the starting lineup and it’s a perfect fit and the Wizards should keep them both starting because Porzingis is very much an outside threat and a matchup nightmare on the arc. Gafford can have the paint mainly to himself when Porzingis is shifting around the arc and Gafford has scored 11 points or more in each of his last five games and pulled down at least eight boards in all but one game during that span. Gafford should continue to play 25-30 minutes per game and even when Bradley Beal is healthier and returns to action, the lineup of Monte Morris, Beal, Kyle Kuzma, Gafford and Porzingis sounds strong. Gafford’s blocking 1.2 shots per outing and he’s swatted away field goal attempts in nine of his last 12 contests.
Anthony Lamb, F, Golden State Warriors – 6% rostered
As mentioned above, the Warriors don’t have much size and Lamb will continue to get heavier run with Jonathan Kuminga, James Wiseman and JaMychal Green hurt. Lamb has received no fewer than 25 minutes of action in four of his last five battles. Lamb has been taking more shots and has scored 17 points or more in each of his last three matchups. Lamb has shot over 50 percent from the floor and nearly 39 percent from beyond the arc. He hits 1.4 three-pointers per game and with the Warriors being the fastest moving team in the league, they’ll have a lot of possessions and with ongoing injuries in their back and mid-court, Lamb will need to fire away more from deep. He’s also produced four or more rebounds and grabbed steals in three of his last four games and the Warriors could all the help they can get on the defensive end since they play very little defense.
Royce O’Neale, SG/SF, Brooklyn Nets – 40% rostered
O’Neale doesn’t provide a steady flow of consistency in his statistics, but his appeal certainly rises with Kevin Durant sidelined and while other Nets players will earn their minutes mainly from their shooting on a given day, O’Neale is a locked-in 30-minutes per game player and he’s scored double figures in six of his last nine games. The blue-collared O’Neale is in the lineup to mainly do the Nets dirty work. He’s one of the reason’s the Nets are as strong as they are defensively. He pulls down around five rebounds per game and drops at least four dimes per outing. With Durant out, he should get a little more time bringing up the ball. He’s posted steals in each of his last three games and is coming off back-to-back multi-block outings. He’s also taken no fewer than eight shots in his last three matchups and he shoots over 41 percent from downtown. He sinks two or more three pointers per game.
Kenrich Williams, F, Oklahoma City Thunder – 6% rostered
Williams isn’t given the most minutes, but just enough to be productive and he’s scored 10 or more points in three of his last four contests. Williams can play both forward spots and with Aleksej Pokusevski hurt along with Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, Williams should continue to play 20-25 minutes per game. He’s even posted nine boards in three of his last five battles. Williams shoots over 54 percent from the field and he’s hit multiple three-pointers in four straight outings. He plays decent defense on the perimeter and elbow, and he’s recorded swipes in three of his last four contests. He won’t hurt your percentages and if he’s getting the minutes and shots, he deserves to be at the end of fantasy basketball benches. The improved rebounding lately has been a bit eye-opening considering he grabs fewer than five rebounds per game on average, but with their frontcourt damaged, the Thunder need help rebounding the basketball.
