2022 NBA Injury Report Week 8: Bradley Beal, John Collins, and De'Andre Hunter Injury Updates
This week's NBA injury chart is headlined by Washington Wizards guard Bradley Beal, who is out of the lineup with a strained hamstring. He shouldn't have to miss extensive time, but he'll be sidelined for at least another few games. The Atlanta Hawks are missing a couple of frontcourt options in John Collins and De'Andre Hunter, but like Beal, both shouldn't have to miss too much time. Los Angeles Lakers center Anthony Davis is sick and had to leave the Lakers previous game and will sit for their next game and we've seen players sit for a few games due to being sick (not COVID-related). Here's the NBA injury report for week eight of the fantasy basketball season.
NAME | POS. | TEAM | INJURY | DATE INJURED | EXP. RETURN DATE | ANALYSIS |
Anthony Davis | PF/C | LAL | Illness | 6-Dec | DAY TO DAY | Davis had to leave a game because he was sick and he's missing an additional game and with him out of the mix temporarily, Thomas Bryant will need to start at center and Juan Toscano-Anderson will grab reserve minutes. When healthy, Wenyen Gabriel will also be in the mix to help fill in on the blocks. |
Al Horford | PF/C | BOS | COVID | 5-Dec | DAY TO DAY | Horford is in the league's health and safety protocols and with Robert Williams also sidelined, Blake Griffin and Noah Vonleh will have to help fill in at center. |
Gabe Vincent | G | MIA | Knee | 5-Dec | DAY TO DAY | Vincent has been on a strange trend lately of playing a few games and then getting hurt. The Heat have had to keep his minutes down and it benefits Max Strus the more Vincent sits. Tyler Herro is healthier now. |
Bradley Beal | SG | WAS | Hamstring | 4-Dec | Middle of December | With Beal out of action for at least the next few games, Kristaps Porzingis and Kyle Kuzma will be even more prioritized in the Wizards offense. Monte Morris will spend more time on the ball and Corey Kispert will see his minutes rise. |
Myles Tuner | C | IND | Hamstring | 4-Dec | DAY TO DAY | Turner is dealing with a sore hamstring and if he has to miss time Isaiah Jackson and Jalen Smith will help clog up the middle for Indiana. The Pacers can always turn to Goga Bitadze as well. |
Wenyen Gabriel | PF/C | LAL | Shoulder | 4-Dec | Middle of December | Gabriel is dealing with a sore shoulder and while he's out Juan Toscano-Anderson will need to help Anthony Davis (when healthy) and Thomas Bryant guard the middle of the paint. |
T.J. McConnell | PG | IND | Illness | 4-Dec | DAY TO DAY | McConnell has been sick and has had to miss a couple of games and if he needs any more time to recover, Andrew Nembhard will get even more usage especially until Tyrese Haliburton is back. |
Andrew Wiggins | F | GSW | Adductor | 3-Dec | DAY TO DAY | Wiggins mid-section is a bit tight and he's had to sit out and if he needs more time off the floor Jordan Poole and Klay Thompson will take more shots. Donte DiVincenzo can also indirectly benefit by seeing more minutes. |
Kenrich Williams | F | OKC | Knee | 3-Dec | DAY TO DAY | Williams sprained his knee and may need a few games to recover, and with Luguentz Dort, not 100 percent, Aleksej Pokusevski and Darius Bazley will see more playing time. Aaron Wiggins could potentially benefit as well. |
Juancho Hernangomez | PF/C | TOR | Ankle | 3-Dec | DAY TO DAY | Hernangomez will need to sit with a sprained ankle and while he's out Chris Boucher should pick up a few more minutes, but the Raptors run a very tight rotation. |
Wes Matthews | SG/SF | MIL | COVID | 3-Dec | DAY TO DAY | Matthews is on the outside looking into the Bucks rotation, but with Matthews out, Pat Connaughton and Grayson Allen will see even more playing time behind Khris Middleton. |
Tyrese Haliburton | G | IND | Groin | 2-Dec | DAY TO DAY | Haliburton has a sore groin and has sat out for a couple of games, but he should be back in the lineup in their next couple of matchups but if he isn't Andrew Nembhard and T.J. McConnell (if healthy) will help run the offense. |
Dean Wade | F | CLE | Shoulder | 2-Dec | Late Dec-Early Jan | Wade has a sprained shoulder and while he recovers, Lamar Stevens and Kevin Love should play more behind Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley. We should see Wade back before the year turns. |
Javonte Green | SG/SF | CHI | Knee | 2-Dec | DAY TO DAY | Green has a bruised knee and if he needs to miss more action, Patrick Williams should benefit by playing more. If the Bulls need additional resources to pick up reserve minutes, Derrick Jones Jr is an option that can be turned to. |
Isaiah Livers | SG/SF | DET | Shoulder | 1-Dec | Week To Week | Livers has a sprained shoulder and while he's out Saddiq Bey and Marvin Bagley III will play more minutes. Bey should see more usage on the offensive end as his production has been very up and down lately. |
Doug McDermott | PF | SAS | Ankle | 30-Nov | DAY TO DAY | McDermott is close to returning after missing a few games with an injured ankle and if he needs more time to recover, Zach Collins and Charles Bassey will help Keldon Johnson guard the post. |
Gary Harris | SG/SF | ORL | Hamstring | 30-Nov | DAY TO DAY | Harris is back on the shelf (along with a few other Magic players) and while he's out, Franz Wagner will take more shots, and Bol Bol and Terrence Ross will see a few more minutes with Ross picking up shots off the bench. |
De'Andre Hunter | F | ATL | Hip | 30-Nov | DAY TO DAY | Hunter should be ready to return to the court in the next couple of games and until he's ready. A.J. Griffin and Jarrett Culver will help fill in and Bogdan Bogdanovic will see more shots. |
Herbert Jones | SG/F | NOP | Ankle | 30-Nov | DAY TO DAY | Jones has a sore ankle and has needed to nurse it and while he's out, Trey Murphy and Naji Marshall should see even more playing time with Brandon Ingram still out. |
John Collins | PF/C | ATL | Ankle | 30-Nov | Mid to Late December | Collins will miss a couple of weeks with a sprained ankle and while he's out A.J. Griffin, Jalen Johnson, and Jarrett Culver will help out in the post. De'Andre Hunter is also on the shelf. |
Norman Powell | SG/SF | LAC | Groin | 29-Nov | Middle of December | Powell has a strained groin and while he's out Kawhi Leonard and Paul George will take more shots. Reggie Jackson indirectly benefits and Terance Mann should see a minutes boost. |
Nassir Little | F | POR | Hip | 29-Nov | Mid to Late January | Little fractured his hip and we won't see him back on the floor until January. Justise Winslow and Shaedon Sharpe should see more minutes and shots. |
Karl-Anthony Towns | PF/C | MIN | Calf | 28-Nov | Late Dec-Early Jan | Towns is dealing with a strained calf and we don't know if we'll see him back in action before the year turns. While he's out, Kyle Anderson should see a major bump in minutes and we should even see Jaylen Nowell take a few more shots even if he plays with the reserves. |
Ben Simmons | G/PF | BKN | Knee | 28-Nov | DAY TO DAY | Simmons return is coming up soon and we should see him back in action in the Nets next couple of games. Until then, Joe Harris and Seth Curry should see an uptick in playing time. |
Jake LaRavia | F | MEM | Foot | 27-Nov | DAY TO DAY | LaRavia has missed games due to having a sore foot and if he needs any more time off Brandon Clarke and David Roddy will see more reserve minutes behind Jaren Jackson Jr. |

Jeremy Sochan | PF | SAS | Quad | 26-Nov | Middle of December | Sochan injured his Quad recently and may need some more time to recover but his timetable wasn't pushed back yet. Zach Collins and Charles Bassey will have to help Keldon Johnson guard the inside as Jakob Poeltl is also hurt. Isaiah Roby could walk in a few more minutes as well. |
Brandon Ingram | SG/F | NOP | Toe | 25-Nov | DAY TO DAY | Ingram has missed a few games because of a toe injury and while he's sidelined, Trey Murphy will see more shots. Zion Williamson should also be prioritized even more. Herbert Jones could pick up more shots as well. |
Jalen Suggs | G | ORL | Ankle | 25-Nov | DAY TO DAY | Cole Anthony and Markelle Fultz recently being activated really give Orlando guard relief as they will continue to fill in for the injured Suggs. The missed time is starting to become a bit concerning surrounding Suggs, but we haven't seen anything confirming he's out for a certain period of time. |
Taurean Prince | F | MIN | Shoulder | 23-Nov | DAY TO DAY | Prince's shoulder continues to bother him and he's needed on the court with Karl-Anthony Towns hurt and until he's ready to come back, Kyle Anderson will see a lot more playing time and Jaden McDaniels will have to post up more on both sides of the ball. |
Dennis Smith Jr | PG | CHA | Ankle | 23-Nov | No Timetable | Smith continues to deal with a badly sprained ankle and with LaMelo Ball also hurt with an ankle injury, Terry Rozier will be getting assisted by Theo Maledon and James Bouknight until he's ready to return. |
Gordon Hayward | F | CHA | Shoulder | 23-Nov | No Timetable | After returning from a shoulder injury earlier in November, three games later, Hayward is back on the shelf apparently with a fractured shoulder and even his wife is claiming that it's pretty severe. We don't know when we'll see him back and Kelly Oubre Jr and Jalen McDaniels will help fill in at SF with Cody Martin still out. |
Michael Porter Jr. | F | DEN | Heel | 22-Nov | DAY TO DAY | Porter clearly needs more time to recover from a heel injury (hopefully there isn't a tear or anything in his foot). Aaron Gordon and Bruce Brown should absolutely benefit by getting more shots and time with the ball. |
Chuma Okeke | PF | ORL | Knee | 21-Nov | DAY TO DAY | Okeke continues to sit with an injured knee and while he's out Bol Bol will continue to receive more minutes. The Magic have been having trouble shaking the injuries this season. |
Josh Richardson | SG/SF | SAS | Ankle | 20-Nov | DAY TO DAY | Richardson is dealing with a minor ankle injury and Devin Vassell will take more shots and Romeo Langford will pick up minutes until he returns to the court. |
Yuta Watanabe | F | BKN | Hamstring | 20-Nov | DAY TO DAY | Watanabe's hamstring is feeling a lot better and we could see him back on the floor by the weekend or early next week. Ben Simmons (also should be returning any day) and Markieff Morris will have to help guard the post a bit more along with Nicolas Claxton. |
Mike Conley | PG | UTA | Leg | 19-Nov | DAY TO DAY | Conley should be back in action in the next couple of games after missing the last few weeks. Jordan Clarkson will run the point more and he'll be assisted by Malik Beasley and Collin Sexton until he hits the floor. |
Rui Hachimura | F | WAS | Ankle | 18-Nov | Week To Week | Hachimura has a bone bruise in his ankle and we don't know when we'll see him take the court again as the Wizards have him as week-to-week. Anthony Gill and even an undersized Will Barton will have to help Kyle Kuzma guard the post. |
Wendell Carter Jr | PF/C | ORL | Foot | 18-Nov | Middle of December | Carter is dealing with a strained foot and continues to sit and if he needs more time off the floor, Bol Bol, Mo Bamba, and Chuma Okeke (when healthy) will see more action on the court. |
Tyrese Maxey | PG | PHI | Foot | 18-Nov | Mid to Late December | Maxey is out until at least the middle of December and while he's sidelined, James Harden will run the point a bit more along with Shake Milton. It'll be interesting to see what happens with De'Anthony Melton's numbers now that Harden is back. |
LaMelo Ball | PG | CHA | Ankle | 16-Nov | No Timetable | One of the biggest wastes of a first-round draft picks so far as we don't know when we'll see Ball play again. Not many details have been given about his injured ankle. He's played in just three games all year and while he's out Terry Rozier and Theo Maledon will help run the offense. |
Otto Porter Jr | F | TOR | Foot | 14-Nov | DAY TO DAY | Porter is dealing with a couple of injuries in his foot and the Raptors already run a tight rotation when fully healthy, but Porter was able to get more playing time when some of the starters got hurt. Chris Boucher will see more run with Porter out. He's been out for the last few weeks. |
Desmond Bane | SG/SF | MEM | Toe | 11-Nov | Mid to Late December | Bane is recovering from a sprained toe and Dillon Brooks will see more shots and John Konchar has filled in at multiple positions and he can toggle to the SG position. From the reports we've been seeing, Bane seems like he's still a couple of weeks away from returning. He's starting to practice a little. |
Cade Cunningham | G | DET | Shin | 9-Nov | No Timetable | We don't know when we'll see Cunningham back on the floor. He could be dealing with a fractured shin. Jaden Ivey will see a lot more time with the rock and other backcourt Pistons such as Alec Burks and Killian Hayes will see more usage. Cunningham is considering surgery that would end his season. |
Precious Achiuwa | C | TOR | Ankle | 9-Nov | No Timetable | Achiuwa has ligament damage in his ankle and while he's shelved, Chris Boucher and Khem Birch will have to help Pascal Siakam and OG Anunoby guard the post. It's starting to look like we won't see Achiuwa take the floor again until January. |
Chris Paul | PG | PHX | Heel | 7-Nov | DAY TO DAY | Paul is getting closer to returning to the court and should play in the Suns next couple of games and until he comes back Cameron Payne will run the point. Devin Booker will help out as well. |
Keon Johnson | SG/SF | POR | Hip | 5-Nov | Late Dec-Early Jan | Johnson has missed a handful of games with an injured hip and he'll need a few more weeks to recover and we'll see Justise Winslow and Shaedon Sharpe pick up more shots and a few more minutes as well. |
Chris Duarte | SG/SF | IND | Ankle | 4-Nov | Early to Mid December | Duarte is recovering from an ankle injury and still needs at least a few more games to recover. Buddy Hield and Bennedict Mathurin will see more time with the ball and shots until Duarte is ready. Andrew Nembhard will grab reserve mid-court minutes. |
Cameron Johnson | F | PHX | Knee | 4-Nov | December-January | Johnson recently had a procedure on his knee and we may not see him back on the floor until after new Year. While he's out, Mikal Bridges will see more shots and Torrey Craig (when healthy) and Dario Saric will play more. |
Jae'Sean Tate | F | HOU | Ankle | 30-Oct | No Timetable | Tate's timetable is beginning to become a little unclear as he's been hurt for most of the year. KJ Martin and Tari Eason will benefit by receiving more minutes. Tate can't take any contact or even do much with the ball while recovering. |
Blake Wesley | SG | SAS | Knee | 30-Oct | Late Dec-Early Jan | Wesley sprained his MCL and will be on the shelf for potentially until the new year and while he's sidelined Josh Richardson (if healthy) and Tre Jones will have to handle more of the scoring burden. |
Delon Wright | G | WAS | Hamstring | 25-Oct | No Timetable | It's unclear when we'll see Wright back in action but it's starting to look more like a January return. Monte Morris will get a lot more minutes and Corey Kispert and Jonathan Goodwin can help run the point as well until Wright returns. |
Cody Martin | SG/SF | CHA | Knee | 19-Oct | December-January | Martin had knee surgery recently and we don't know if we'll see him before January at this point. The Hornets backcourt is banged up and Kelly Oubre Jr will be a key contributor along with Jalen McDaniels. |
Robert Williams | C | BOS | Knee | Pre-Season | December | We've received updates that Williams is practicing and could potentially take the court in the next few weeks. While he's out, Al Horford (when healthy) will start at center and Blake Griffin and Noah Vonleh will back him up with Grant Williams helping out more at PF. |
Lonzo Ball | PG | CHI | Knee | Pre-Season | No Timetable | We still don't know when Ball will be back on the court but it is possible he makes it back before the end of the season. Ayo Dosunmu will continue drawing starts and both Goran Dragic and Coby White are other options to run the point. Zach LaVine will bring up the rock too. |
Danilo Gallinari | PF | BOS | Torn ACL | Pre-Season | OUT FOR THE SEASON | Gallinari won't play this season after tearing his ACL. Grant Williams and Blake Griffin will help Jayson Tatum guard the post. |
Ricky Rubio | PG | CLE | Torn ACL | Pre-Season | No Timetable | Rubio tore his ACL at the end of last year and as we wait for him to recover, Donovan Mitchell and Raul Neto will help Darius Garland run the point. Rubio is slowly recovering but he isn't at the five-on-five level of rehab just yet, but it's starting to look like we will see him play in January, but that's not confirmed. |
Gary Payton II | G | POR | Abs | Pre-Season | December | Payton isn't over the pain yet and that's pushed back his expected return date and we thought he would have returned by now. Rookie Shaedon Sharpe will continue having a bigger role until Payton is ready. Payton will be a key reserve for Portland when he's ready. |
Omer Yurtseven | C | MIA | Ankle | Pre-Season | No Timetable | Yurtseven just had ankle surgery and we don't know when we'll see him back on the floor leaving Dewayne Dedmon the reserve minutes behind Bam Adebayo who has been playing over 35 minutes per game. |
Jonathan Isaac | F | ORL | Knee | Pre-Season | December-January | It's been a long time since we've seen Isaac take the floor, but he recently told the media that he's on the right track and could return in the next month. Even when he eventually gets on the floor, he'll be under heavy playing time restrictions. Bol Bol and Chuma Okeke (when healthy) will continue to see a bump in playing time. He's with the Magic's G-League team. |
Joe Ingles | F | MIL | Knee | Pre-Season | No Timetable | Ingles is coming off of a torn ACL, and we won't see him take the floor for a few months. While he's out Wes Matthews (when healthy) and Jordan Nwora will continue seeing more playing time. |
Ziaire Williams | SF | MEM | Knee | Pre-Season | DAY TO DAY | Williams hasn't played yet but is very close to stepping on the court for the first time this year and we could see him back in the next couple of games. Until then, Dillon Brooks will get even more playing time and John Konchar has done an excellent job producing points, boards, and steals in the mid-court. |
Daniel Theis | C | IND | Knee | Pre-Season | No Timetable | Theis won't be seen on the floor for a while after having knee surgery. Isaiah Jackson and Jalen Smith can help relieve Myles Turner at center pushing Theis way down the bench when he's healthy. |
