2022 NBA Injury Report Week 10: Stephen Curry, Anthony Davis and Wendell Carter Jr. Injury Updates
The NBA injury report for week 10 is headlined by two major players being out of their respective lineups as Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry will miss at least the next few weeks with an injured shoulder and Los Angeles Lakers center Anthony Davis will be out for a month with an injured foot. On a brighter note, the Orlando Magic have been hampered by injuries all season long, but their center Wendell Carter Jr is very close to returning to the Magic lineup. Charlotte Hornets guard LaMelo Ball recently returned to the basketball court from injury and hopefully, he can keep his ankles healthy. Here's the NBA injury report for week 10 of the fantasy basketball season.
NAME | POS. | TEAM | INJURY | DATE INJURED | EXP. RETURN DATE | ANALYSIS |
Harrison Barnes | F | SAC | Quad | 19-Dec | DAY TO DAY | Barnes had to leave his previous game with an injured quad and if he has to miss time, Keegan Murray will get more shots and Malik Monk can indirectly benefit by getting more shots off the bench. Terence Davis may see a minutes boost. |
Dorian Finney-Smith | F | DAL | Adductor | 19-Dec | DAY TO DAY | We'll have to see how Finney-Smith feels moving forward and this is bad luck for the Mavs who recently lost another frontcourt player, Maxi Kleber. If Finney-Smith needs time off, Reggie Bullock and Davis Bertans will see their minutes increase. |
Josh Okogie | SG/SF | PHX | Hip | 19-Dec | DAY TO DAY | Okogie hurt his hip and we don't know at this point if he'll need to miss additional time. If he has to sit, Damion Lee and Landry Shamet will see more reserve minutes. |
Kyle Anderson | F | MIN | Back | 18-Dec | DAY TO DAY | Anderson is dealing with back pain and the Timberwolves frontcourt is already down multiple options and Jaden McDaniels and Nathan Knight will have to help guard the post if Anderson needs more time off to recover. |
Terry Rozier | G | CHA | Hip | 18-Dec | DAY TO DAY | Rozier suffered a hip injury a few games ago and it's a minor injury that shouldn't keep him off the floor for too long, but if he needs more time to recover, Kelly Oubre Jr will start in his place. |
Kelly Olynyk | PF/C | UTA | Ankle | 17-Dec | DAY TO DAY | We haven't been told that Olynyk badly sprained his ankle, but he'll likely be out a couple of more games and while he's sidelined Walker Kessler should draw starts, and Jarred Vanderbilt will shift up to center for part of the game. |
Josh Giddey | G/SF | OKC | Illness | 17-Dec | DAY TO DAY | Giddey has had to sit for a couple of games because he's sick and if needs any more time off, Aaron Wiggins will help Shai Gilgeous-Alexander in the backcourt. Giddey should be back in the next game or two. |
Lamar Stevens | SG/SF | CLE | Knee | 17-Dec | DAY TO DAY | Stevens has a sore knee and if he needs to keep sitting, Cedi Osman and Kevin Love could be walking into a slight uptick in minutes until he's ready to return to action. |
Jock Landale | C | PHX | Concussion | 17-Dec | DAY TO DAY | Landale is in the league's concussion protocol, but he's not needed as much on the floor with Deandre Ayton back in the mix and the Suns also have Bismack Biyombo to back up Ayton as well. |
Garrison Mathews | SG/SF | HOU | Illness | 17-Dec | DAY TO DAY | Mathews is sick and has had to sit and he doesn't get consistent playing time and is at the end of the bench behind Tari Eason and K.J. Martin. |
Anthony Davis | PF/C | LAL | Foot | 16-Dec | January-February | Davis had done a good job staying healthy and now he'll be out for at least a month if not longer with an injured foot and while he's out Thomas Bryant will draw starts and Wenyen Gabriel and Damian Jones will see a bump in reserve minutes as well. |
Dwight Powell | C | DAL | Thigh | 16-Dec | DAY TO DAY | Powell is dealing with an injured thigh and if he needs to miss any more time, Christian Wood and JaVale McGee will have to play more minutes as Maxi Kleber is out as well. |
Reggie Jackson | G | LAC | Achilles | 15-Dec | DAY TO DAY | Jackson has a sore achilles and has been sidelined for a couple of games and while he's out, John Wall will see more minutes and Terance Mann can shift to PG at times. |
Paul George | F | LAC | Knee | 15-Dec | DAY TO DAY | George's knee has been acting up a bit and he's sat for a couple of games. At first, it seemed like he was being rested, but we'll consider him day-to-day and with Norman Powell hurt, Terance Mann will help Kawhi Leonard in the mid-court if George needs more time off. |
Khris Middleton | F | MIL | Knee | 15-Dec | DAY TO DAY | Middleton has sat for a few games with a sore knee and if he needs more time to recover, Grayson Allen and Pat Connaughton will see more shots. Jrue Holiday will certainly see more usage as well. |
Ousmane Dieng | F | OKC | Wrist | 15-Dec | January-February | Dieng is at the end of the Thunder bench but has come through when needed as Oklahoma City has had players in and out of the lineup all year and when he's all healed up from his fractured wrist, he'll need to wait for others to get injured before he gets meaningful minutes. |
Stephen Curry | PG | GSW | Shoulder | 14-Dec | No Timetable | Originally we were told Curry would be out for a few weeks but then newer reports indicate the injury is a bit more severe and we don't know when we'll see him back. Until he returns, Jordan Poole and Donte DiVincenzo will run the point and Klay Thompson can also help bring the ball up as well. |
Rudy Gobert | C | MIN | Ankle | 14-Dec | DAY TO DAY | Gobert has missed a few games with a sprained ankle and with Karl-Anthony Towns still sidelined, Naz Reid will continue starting and Nathan Knight can see more minutes behind him if Gobert continues to sit. |
Clint Capela | C | ATL | Calf | 14-Dec | End Of December | Capela will have to sit for a few more games due to a calf injury and while he's out Onyeka Okongwu and John Collins (who recently returned to action) will help guard the middle of the paint. |
Gary Trent Jr | G | TOR | Quad | 14-Dec | DAY TO DAY | Trent has missed a few games with an injured quad and while the Raptors just got OG Anunoby back, they'll need backcourt relief and Malachi Flynn and Dalano Banton should shift to SG and the Raptors can shift Juancho Hernangomez down to play as bigger guard and that will cause matchup problems. |
Kyle Lowry | PG | MIA | Knee | 14-Dec | DAY TO DAY | Lowry has sat with knee pain for a few games and he could possibly return to action in the Heat's next contest, but if needs more time off the floor, Max Strus and Tyler Herro will help run the point with Gabe Vincent still out. |
Ivica Zubac | C | LAC | Knee | 14-Dec | DAY TO DAY | Zubac has missed a few games with a knee injury and the Clippers aren't loaded with center depth, but Robert Covington and Moses Brown will have to help guard the post until he's ready. |
Darius Bazley | F | OKC | Illness | 14-Dec | DAY TO DAY | Bazley has been sick and has had to sit for a few games and if he needs more Aleksej Pokusevski, Kenrich Williams and Jalen Williams will see additional run. Mike Muscala is also an option but he'll have to fill in for Jeremiah Robinson-Earl. |
Cameron Payne | G | PHX | Foot | 13-Dec | DAY TO DAY | Payne is still recovering from spraining his foot and with Devin Booker still hurt, Damion Lee and Landry Shamet will help Chris Paul run the point. |
Maxi Kleber | PF/C | DAL | Hamstring | 13-Dec | No Timetable | We don't know when we'll see Kleber take the floor again after tearing his hamstring and the Mavericks will have to turn more to Christian Wood for help on the offensive end and JaVale McGee on the defensive side of the ball. |
Furkan Korkmaz | SG/SF | PHI | Illness | 13-Dec | DAY TO DAY | Korkmaz has been sick and he doesn't play many minutes when healthy and if he needs to continue to sit, Matisse Thybulle could end up seeing a bit more reserve run. |
Jeremiah Robinson-Earl | PF/C | OKC | Ankle | 12-Dec | DAY TO DAY | Robinson-Earl is dealing with a sprained ankle and he's missed a few games because of it. Aleksej Pokusevski and Darius Bazley (when healthy) will have to help guard the post. Mike Muscala should pick up more playing time. |
Josh Green | SG/SF | DAL | Elbow | 9-Dec | DAY TO DAY | Green is suffering from a sprained elbow and he'll need at least a couple of more games off. We should see Tim Hardaway Jr play and shoot more and Dorian Finney-Smith will pick up additional shots as well. |
Jordan McLaughlin | PG | MIN | Calf | 9-Dec | DAY TO DAY | Is McLaughlin's calf strain really that "minor" as originally reported? He's not missed a handful of games and Jaylen Nowell will continue to see more playing time behind D'Angelo Russell. |
Collin Sexton | G | UTA | Hamstring | 7-Dec | DAY TO DAY | Sexton continues to sit with a strained hamstring and while he's sidelined, Jordan Clarkson and Malik Beasley will have to help Mike Conley run the point. |
Obi Toppin | PF | NYK | Knee | 7-Dec | Late December | Toppin recently hurt his knee and while he's out, Isaiah Hartenstein will see a bump in minutes, especially behind Mitchell Robinson and we should see Jericho Sims get a bit of extra reserve run. |
Juan Toscano-Anderson | F | LAL | Ankle | 7-Dec | Late December | Toscano-Anderson could be out another week and change and with Anthony Davis hurt, Thomas Bryant, Wenyen Gabriel, and Damian Jones will guard the post. |
Gabe Vincent | G | MIA | Knee | 5-Dec | DAY TO DAY | Vincent continues to miss games due to a knee injury. Tyler Herro and Max Strus and even Victor Oladipo will see more minutes if Vincent misses more time. |
Duane Washington Jr | PG | PHX | Hip | 4-Dec | DAY TO DAY | Washington has a strained hip and while he's out, Landry Shamet and Damion Lee will have to help Chris Paul bring up the ball with Cameron Payne also hurt. |
Andrew Wiggins | F | GSW | Adductor | 3-Dec | DAY TO DAY | Wiggins will need a few more games off the floor and his timetable to return is starting to become a bit unclear because he's clearly still in pain from what we've been told. Jordan Poole and Klay Thompson will take more shots. Donte DiVincenzo, especially with Stephen Curry also out, will see a major minutes boost. |
Dean Wade | F | CLE | Shoulder | 2-Dec | End of Dec-Early Jan | Wade has a sprained shoulder and while he recovers, Lamar Stevens and Kevin Love should play more behind Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley. We should see Wade back before the year turns. |
Isaiah Livers | SG/SF | DET | Shoulder | 1-Dec | End of Dec-Early Jan | Livers has a sprained shoulder and while he's out Saddiq Bey and Marvin Bagley III will play more minutes. Bey should see more usage on the offensive end as his production has been very up and down lately. The Pistons could turn to using Isaiah Stewart at PF more for size purposes. |
Gary Harris | SG/SF | ORL | Hamstring | 30-Nov | DAY TO DAY | Harris continues to be shelved with a hamstring injury and while he's out, Franz Wagner will take more shots and Bol Bol and Terrence Ross will see a few more minutes and Ross walks into more shots. |
Norman Powell | SG/SF | LAC | Groin | 29-Nov | End of December | Powell has a strained groin and while he's out Kawhi Leonard and Paul George will take more shots. Reggie Jackson indirectly benefits by picking up more time with the ball and Terance Mann should see a minutes boost. |
Nassir Little | F | POR | Hip | 29-Nov | Mid to Late January | Little fractured his hip and we won't see him back on the floor until January. Justise Winslow and Shaedon Sharpe should see more minutes and shots. |
Karl-Anthony Towns | PF/C | MIN | Calf | 28-Nov | Late Dec-Early Jan | Towns is dealing with a strained calf and we don't know if we'll see him back in action before the year turns. While he's out, Kyle Anderson (when healthy) will continue to play more minutes and draw starts. Jaylen Nowell indirectly benefits and we should see Jaden McDaniels get more action as well. |
Brandon Ingram | SG/F | NOP | Toe | 25-Nov | End Of December | Ingram's toe is just not healing and we've backed up his timetable to return a little as a result. Trey Murphy and Naji Marshall will see more minutes and shots. Zion Williamson will get even more usage and he's been dominant since Ingram got hurt. |
Jalen Suggs | G | ORL | Ankle | 25-Nov | DAY TO DAY | Suggs continues racking up inactive statuses with his ankle injury. The missed time is starting to become a bit concerning surrounding Suggs, but we haven't seen anything confirming he's out for a certain period of time. Markelle Fultz and Cole Anthony will benefit by seeing more time with the ball. |
Taurean Prince | F | MIN | Shoulder | 23-Nov | DAY TO DAY | Prince's shoulder continues to bother him and he hasn't played in almost a month and until he's ready to come back, Kyle Anderson (when healthy) will see a lot more playing time, and Jaden McDaniels will have to post up more on both sides of the ball. |
Dennis Smith Jr | PG | CHA | Ankle | 23-Nov | No Timetable | Smith continues to deal with a badly sprained ankle and until he's ready to return, Terry Rozier and Theo Maledon will help LaMelo Ball run the point. |
Michael Porter Jr | F | DEN | Heel | 22-Nov | DAY TO DAY | Slowly but surely, Porter is recovering and the Nuggets know the drill by now; take every precaution possible because Porter gets hurt a lot. Aaron Gordon and Bruce Brown will benefit by getting more shots and time with the ball. |
Chuma Okeke | PF | ORL | Knee | 21-Nov | Mid to Late January | After having a procedure on his knee, Okeke will be out until at least the middle of January and Bol Bol and Mo Wagner will continue to receive more minutes. The Magic have been having trouble shaking the injuries this season. |
Rui Hachimura | F | WAS | Ankle | 18-Nov | Week To Week | Hachimura has a bone bruise in his ankle and we don't know when we'll see him take the court again as the Wizards have him as week-to-week. Anthony Gill and even an undersized Will Barton will have to help Kyle Kuzma guard the post. Hachimura is starting to practice again this week but his return to the floor isn't that close. |
Wendell Carter Jr | PF/C | ORL | Foot | 18-Nov | DAY TO DAY | Carter is reportedly getting set to return to action at the end of the week and when he does, Bol Bol, Mo Bamba, and Mo Wagner's minutes and production will take a hit and they'll be splitting reserve minutes with each other. Bol can help out at other positions while Bamba and Wagner will fight for minutes behind Carter. |
Tyrese Maxey | PG | PHI | Foot | 18-Nov | Middle of January | Maxey will need to miss more time for his fractured foot to heal. He's looking at a mid-January return for now. James Harden will run the point a bit more along with Shake Milton. De'Anthony Melton will also help assist and toggle between both guard spots. |
Otto Porter Jr | F | TOR | Toe | 14-Nov | Mid to Late January | Porter is dealing with a couple of injuries in his foot and when he comes back, depending on the health of the starters he will be looking at inconsistent minutes. Chris Boucher will see more run with Porter out. This timetable can definitely be backed up. |
Desmond Bane | SG/SF | MEM | Toe | 11-Nov | End of December | Bane is recovering from a sprained toe and Dillon Brooks will see more shots and John Konchar has filled in at multiple positions and he can toggle to the SG position. The reporting on Bane has been spotty indicating that he's not quite ready to return to action and we're starting to think he won't make it back before January. |
Cade Cunningham | G | DET | Shin | 9-Nov | OUT FOR THE SEASON | Cunningham had surgery on his shin and his season is over. Killian Hayes and Jaden Ivey will see a lot more time with the rock and other backcourt Pistons such as Alec Burks will see more usage. |
Precious Achiuwa | C | TOR | Ankle | 9-Nov | Early to mid January | Achiuwa has ligament damage in his ankle and while he's shelved, Chris Boucher and Khem Birch will have to help Pascal Siakam guard the post. New reports have told us to expect to see Achiuwa back on the floor in January. |
Cameron Johnson | F | PHX | Knee | 4-Nov | No Timetable | It would be surprising to see Johnson back on the court before January as his recovery from this knee injury has been slow. While he's out, Mikal Bridges will see more shots and Torrey Craig will play more. |
Jae'Sean Tate | F | HOU | Ankle | 30-Oct | No Timetable | We don't even know if Tate is taking any kind of contact yet in practice signaling that he's still not close to returning. KJ Martin and Tari Eason will benefit by receiving more minutes. |
Delon Wright | G | WAS | Hamstring | 25-Oct | DAY TO DAY | New reports are out that Wright could potentially return in the Wizards next few games and he'll back up Monte Morris once he does and Corey Kispert and Jonathan Goodwin will be fighting for extra reserve minutes. |
Cody Martin | SG/SF | CHA | Knee | 19-Oct | End of Dec-Early Jan | Martin had knee surgery recently and we don't know if we'll see him before January at this point. Gordon Hayward and Kelly Oubre will continue to help out in the mid-court and Jalen McDaniels can toggle between both forward spots as well. |
Lonzo Ball | PG | CHI | Knee | Pre-Season | No Timetable | We are all in the dark in regards to whether we will see Ball play at all this season. Ayo Dosunmu will continue drawing starts and both Goran Dragic and Coby White are other options to run the point. Zach LaVine will bring up the rock too. |
Danilo Gallinari | PF | BOS | Torn ACL | Pre-Season | OUT FOR THE SEASON | Gallinari won't play this season after tearing his ACL. Grant Williams and Blake Griffin will help Jayson Tatum and Robert Williams guard the post. |
Ricky Rubio | PG | CLE | Torn ACL | Pre-Season | No Timetable | Rubio tore his ACL at the end of last year and as we wait for him to recover, Donovan Mitchell and Raul Neto will help Darius Garland run the point. Rubio is practicing with the Cavs G-League team but we still don't know when he'll be back with his teammates on the court. |
Gary Payton II | G | POR | Abs | Pre-Season | Late December | There's a chance we see Payton return to action before the end of the year. Rookie Shaedon Sharpe will continue having a bigger role until Payton is ready. Payton will be a key reserve for Portland when he's ready because of his defensive tenacity. |
Omer Yurtseven | C | MIA | Ankle | Pre-Season | No Timetable | Yurtseven just had ankle surgery and we don't know when we'll see him back on the floor leaving Dewayne Dedmon the reserve minutes behind Bam Adebayo. Nikola Jovic can help back them up as well. |
Jonathan Isaac | F | ORL | Knee | Pre-Season | January | It's been a long time since we've seen Isaac take the floor, but he recently told the media that he's on the right track. Even when he eventually gets on the floor, he'll be under heavy playing time restrictions. Bol Bol will continue to see a bump in playing time. |
Daniel Theis | C | IND | Knee | Pre-Season | No Timetable | Theis won't be seen on the floor for a while after having knee surgery. Isaiah Jackson and Jalen Smith can help relieve Myles Turner at center pushing Theis way down the bench when he's healthy. |
