The final day of the NBA regular season is here with 14 games on the schedule. Russell Westbrook and Anthony Davis are the top players on the board. There is plenty of value at every position due to players sitting out because of injuries or their team clinched a playoff spot. Target players that are guaranteed to play heavy minutes, so avoid players that play on teams like the Hawks or Warriors, because their stud players are unlikely to play heavy minutes even if they start the game.
The point guard position is led by Russell Westbrook, who clearly has the highest ceiling at the position. Zach LaVine continues to play well over 40 minutes a game, combine that with the Thunder's poor defense, and that equals a quality mid-tier option. George Hill is another point guard to target because the Pacers have to win this game if they want any shot at making the playoffs. Plus, his primary backup, C.J. Watson, is out tonight as well, so Hill is going to play big minutes again and should put up a lot of fantasy points. Ramon Sessions is a good punt play since he'll get the start in place of John Wall.
The shooting guard position is the best position to save money at as most of the top-tier players are unlikely to return value because their price tags are high, but their minutes are uncertain. Jabari Brown is the best value option at the position because he's pretty much minimum value, yet, will play 40-plus minutes tonight. Dion Waiters is a good play as well, but he's risky for cash games. Will Barton becomes an intriguing option, especially if he starts, because a lot of the Nuggets' starters are not going to play tonight. A sneaky punt play option at the position is Vander Blue, who was just signed by the Lakers and will likely get the start in place of Jordan Clarkson. Expect him to play a lot of minutes with all of the injuries to the Lakers guards.
Andrew Wiggins continues to play 40-plus minutes a game, combine that with his incredible matchup, and that equals the top play at the position. Robert Covington has flourished with Nerlens Noel out of the lineup, which makes a quality low-tier option. Wilson Chandler, who has produced at least 35 fantasy points in three straight games, is a great player to target as long as he plays.
The power forward position is ridiculously strong tonight with quality options at every price range. Expect Anthony Davis to carry his team tonight as the Pelicans are in a must-win situation if they want to make the playoffs. His counterpart, Tim Duncan, is also going to have a strong game as the Spurs need this victory to clinch home court advantage. Plus, Duncan is averaging 35-plus fantasy points vs the Pelicans this season. His mid-tier price tag makes him a very intriguing option tonight. The amount of value plays at the position us absurd as Jason Thompson, Derrick Williams, Jason Smith, Trevor Booker (assuming Derrick Favors is out), and Tarik Black are all great low-tier options. Booker has the highest ceiling in that group, while Thompson and Williams are safe cash game options. Williams gets a boost in value with Casspi out.
The center position is the toughest position to figure out because it is unclear which top-tier options are going to play full minutes. Brook Lopez is the safest option at the position because of his high ceiling and superb matchup vs the Magic. Hassan Whiteside would become the number one option if we knew he was going to play 35-plus minutes. Jordan Hill is a risky low-tier option, but he'll have no problem reaching value as long as he gets 25-plus minutes of playing time. Enes Kanter is another safe option at the position.
That is it for the NBA regular season. Hope you enjoyed the NBA DFS Playbook this season.
