NASCAR DFS Core Plays Victoria's Voice Foundation 200: Ty Majeski Fast In Practice
The Craftsman Truck Series is back in Las Vegas Friday night and after a very stressful tech situation, all trucks got through in time for the 20-minute practice session. Now this is a Kyle Busch race in the Truck Series. Some maintain he hasn’t dominated as much as he used to. I subscribe to the theory that he didn’t want to compete late in previous races against teammates/employees like John Hunter Nemechek and Chandler Smith. In those races I believe he wanted to secure his drivers a spot in the playoffs so he went a little easy in the final stages to secure wins for his drivers. But this is a different scenario. Kyle Busch is the best driver by a mile and in the best equipment. It’s no surprise he opened as a +150 favorite to win this race. He is going to be heavily owned so don’t be too surprised when you see him in both the Cash and Tournament Core Plays tables.
Now I will mention that your exposure to Kyle Busch in tonight’s race is entirely up to you. If I were playing Cash games (which I’m not) I’d play him no matter what. He’s going to be so heavily owned that even if he busts he’s not killing you. But even for Tournaments I’m anticipating having at least 60% exposure to him. Why? Because I’m playing an amount in Tournaments that I’m comfortable losing so even if he busts and my lineups go up in flames, so be it. I’ll turn my focus to Saturday’s action. But if he hits then I’m in good shape so long as I find leverage elsewhere.
I’ll reiterate that if you do pay up for Kyle Busch in Tournaments, just treat him as if he’s the primary dominator for tonight’s race. You’re paying a premium at $14,500 so I wouldn’t bother trying to fit in a second dominator. Use your remaining salary on five drivers that can get you PD or finish very well. If you do fade Kyle Busch then you should be looking at a two-dominator build and the Playbook will have those options as well to help you construct your lineups for tonight’s race.
Below I will post the practice session speeds as well as the qualifying order to give you an idea of why I’m landing on certain drivers for the Core Plays. I’ll be in the NASCAR DFS Discord up until lineup lock for this evening’s race with green flag just shortly after 9:00pm ET.

Note: Ty Majeski didn't make the Playbook but he was exceptionally fast in practice and should be able to work his way around Purdy and Sanchez early on and could wind up collecting dominator points at some point in this race so I decided to give him a little love as a Tournament play.
