Today’s MLB DFS slate for Friday, July 29th features 13 games with nearly have a full slate for our daily fantasy baseball lineups on DraftKings, FanDuel, and Yahoo Fantasy! When formulating your MLB daily fantasy lineup strategy for the evening, it comes down to two things. First, how much do you want to pay to roster top pitchers? Secondly, how much Coors Field action do you want in MLB DFS lineups? There are no shortage of aces tonight with Justin Verlander, Alek Manoah, Gerrit Cole, Brandon Woodruff, and Robbie Ray toeing the rubber. On a site like DraftKings or Yahoo, it’s going to be quite tough to get multiple of those top pitchers in your MLB DFS lineup. Like any slate, there are plenty of value options to help round out your lineups, like Gavin Lux as he and the Los Angeles Dodgers figure to be a popular MLB DFS stack. Be sure to check out the confirmed MLB lineups, today's MLB weather report updates, and our MLB daily projections page before building daily fantasy baseball lineups. From value pitchers to value bats, here are my MLB DFS top picks for today’s Value Vault.

MLB DFS Pitchers

Alex Cobb, SFG ($8,300 FD/$6,700 DK/$32 Yahoo)

The Cubs are in the thick of things here at the trade deadline and who's to say by first pitch, or even during the game, that Willson Contreras and/or Ian Happ aren’t pulled due to being traded – depleting an already weak lineup? Cobb has a 3.00 ERA in five starts here in the month of July and he has to be on our radar when he pitches at home. The San Francisco Giants starter has a 3.02 ERA across nine home starts this season, not to mention a 9.78 K/9 rate. The Cubs, meanwhile, have the 11th-highest strikeout rate against right-handed pitching during July and their .298 wOBA ranks in the bottom-third of baseball this month. Cobb’s upside may be capped, but pitching at home against a strikeout-prone Chicago team could be just enough to make him a value SP2 this evening.

Lance Lynn, CWS ($6,800 DK/$38 Yahoo)

Lynn is a tough one for me tonight, because I get the appeal of playing him but I also like a couple of Oakland bats against him. For the sake of this write-up, let’s be pro-Lynn for a minute. The Chicago White Sox starter is coming off his best start of the season, in which he struck out six Guardians over six shutout innings. He now gets to face Oakland, who has the sixth-highest strikeout rate in the month of July with a below average wRC+. Specifically against right-handed pitching, the Athletics have the sixth-lowest batting average and fifth-highest strikeout rate. I can’t trust Lynn on FanDuel where you only start one pitcher, but in GPPs, Lynn is worth a dart on DraftKings and Yahoo.

MLB DFS Hitters

Gavin Lux, LAD ($3,000 FD/$3,600 DK)

All things considered, this is a good price point for Lux at Coors Field tonight. He just had three hits last night in Colorado and he’s now hitting .440 with a .600 slugging percentage over his last seven games. Lux is also hitting .322 on the road this season and, at Coors in particular, he’s hitting .478 with a 1.104 OPS in seven games! Also, Chad Kuhl has allowed a .272 average and .366 wOBA to lefties this year while Lux has hit right-handed pitchers at a .312 clip.

Gleyber Torres, NYY ($3,200 FD)

We’ll need to watch the weather here, but Torres is hitting .300 against lefties this year with a .423 wOBA. Kansas City’s Kris Bubic has been beaten by lefties more than righties, but he’s allowed a 4.60 ERA and 1.50 WHIP on the road this season. Though Bubic has pitched better of late, and I’ll give him credit for that, Torres has still been so darn good against lefties. The Yankees' infielder will be in my lineups if the weather holds in New York.

Gary Sánchez, MIN ($3,300 DK/$8 Yahoo)

Holy BvP numbers! Sanchez is 6-for-20 with five home runs against Blake Snell in his career. Yes, FIVE! Snell has been brutal in his home park, allowing a 4.67 ERA and 1.33 WHIP and while Sanchez has been rather bad against lefties, this BvP data makes him at least worth a dart throw behind the dish. You have to play a catcher on DraftKings and Yahoo, so that’s where I would consider sprinkling in Sanchez in some GPPs.

Tony Kemp, OAK ($2,400 FD/$2,500 DK/$13 Yahoo)

I talked about being pro-Lance Lynn earlier, but if you aren’t buying into his most recent start, you can throw a couple of Athletics in your GPP and be okay. Lance Lynn has served up a .326 batting average and .393 wOBA to left-handed hitters this season, and Kemp is hitting .333 with two home runs, seven RBI, and three runs scored over his last seven games. He’s hit safely in four straight games and has notched at least one RBI in each of those contests

Stephen Piscotty, OAK ($2,200 FD/$2,300 DK/$12 Yahoo)

Lance Lynn has been far more generous to left-handed hitters this season, but Piscotty has the BvP data against Lynn. In his career, Piscotty is 5-for-12 with one homer against Lynn. Plus, the Oakland outfielder has picked things up of late, going 7-for-25 with two home runs over his last seven contests. Piscotty has three multi-hit contests in his last four games and it’s hard to ignore Lynn’s 5.16 ERA on the road this season.

Kyle Garlick, MIN ($2,100 FD/$11 Yahoo)

Garlick has two home runs and a .296 average in the month of July, but he’s a guy that has crushed lefties this year. Six of his eight home runs this year have come against southpaws, and he’s hitting .308 with a 1.027 OPS against them. This game is on the road, which is also enticing for Garlick as he just so happens to have hit seven of his eight home runs on the road with an .897 OPS away from home. If you’re going all in against Blake Snell, Garlick is a cheap part of any Minnesota stack and should be lower-rostered in comparison to his teammates.

Jose Miranda, MIN ($2,400 FD/$3,400 DK)

Yes, another Twin! I love attacking Blake Snell and Miranda is another right-handed bat in this lineup that has punished southpaws this season. Miranda is hitting .290 with an .861 OPS against left-handed pitching this year. Furthermore, he has an .898 OPS away from his home park and he’s hitting a cool. 423 with a 1.041 OPS over his last 26 at-bats. That price point on FanDuel is tantalizing!
