MLB DFS Value Plays September 29: Top DraftKings and FanDuel Picks
Today’s MLB DFS coverage is for the big 13-game main slate that starts at 7:05 pm ET on both DraftKings and FanDuel. Starting pitching is headlined by Zac Gallen and Nathan Eovaldi. Ronald Acuna Jr. and Mookie Betts are the most expensive hitters at our disposal, but Aaron Judege is probably my top spend-up option on this slate. James is on the playbook today, make sure to give that a read, and don’t forget to check out the MLB Lineups page, Vegas Odds, and all of our MLB DFS Tools. Let’s dive into some of my favorite value options of the day and some we can fit into our cash and tournament lineups!
MLB DFS Value Pitcher
Carlos Rodon, New York Yankees (DraftKings: $7,100)
Rodon has really struggled this year, BUT he is pitching a lot better lately. He has scored 26.5, 25.4, and 12.7 dk points over his last three games. He has pitched 5, 6.2, and 6.1 innings in those three starts while racking up 23 Ks. He is starting to look more like the guy we saw last year and now he gets to take on a weak Royals lineup. And we don’t have to worry about a short leash like we do with playoff contenders.
MLB DFS Value Hitters
Junior Caminero, 3B, Tampa Bay Rays (DraftKings: $2,900 / FanDuel: $2,600)
Caminero hasn’t lit it up yet by any means, going just 3-19 through four games of action, but he does have a double and two RBI. He is a talented player who had a monster year in the minors and he is in a good offense. Ryu was hammered in his last outing for three dingers and five runs in 4.1 innings, so I’ll take a shot on Caminero at this cheap of a price.
Garrett Mitchell, OF, Milwaukee Brewers (DraftKings: $3,200 / FanDuel: $2,000)
I am a Garrett Mitchell stan and I am proud of it. I think he is a great player and I hate the way he lost his season due to injury, but he made his return yesterday as the Brewers get him ready for the postseason with a small taste of final regular season games and he played great, going 1-1 with a double, two walks, and a run scored to finish with 11 dk points. He provides power and speed and there’s a lot to like with his profile. He is cheap on DK, but his minimum price tag on FD is comical.
Estevan Florial, OF, New York Yankees (DraftKings: $2,500 / FanDuel: $2,500)
It’s easy to like the Yankees facing Jordan Lyles today and Florial is a great piece to a stack or simply just as a one-off with his salary-saving price tag. He is hitting well right now, hitting .303 over his last 10 games with two stolen bases and three doubles. He now has three steals through 16 games of action. He has scored at least 8 dk points in five of his past seven games and while that’s not anything to write home about, it’s providing us with a nice little floor.
