After going 2-for-3 in my Underdog plays of the day yesterday, we are hoping for a perfect 3-for-3 today! I flip the script a bit, as lately I’ve been looking at more pitcher props, but outside of Luis Castillo, there wasn’t a ton that really intrigued me, or knocked my socks off. However, with Patrick Corbin pitching for Washington, Austin Riley is someone I'm actively targeting, and of your DFS fans out there should let him headline any Atlanta MLB DFS stack you deploy today. Also, while the Royals as a team have struggled against right-handed pitching of late, Salvador Perez caught my eye today with strong BvP numbers against Dylan Bundy, and an impressive stat line over the last week or so. Keep an eye on the weather report leading up to game time, as well as confirmed lineups to ensure these guys all find themselves on their respective team’s lineup card. Here are my favorite MLB player props and Underdog plays of the day for Tuesday, September 20.

Underdog Fantasy MLB Player Props September 20

Austin Riley OVER 1.5 Total Bases

Patrick Corbin has pitched better of late, sure, however, he’s faced Baltimore, Chicago, and Cincinnati amidst his last six starts. He did well against the Mets, yes, but outside of that, five earned runs on 12 hits to Philly, and four earned runs to the Cubs isn’t great. Corbin has faced Atlanta three times this season, and he’s 0-3 with a 9.88 ERA, 2.41 WHIP, and he’s allowed 26 hits in 13.2 innings. Riley was slumping a bit, but he’s hit safely in four straight, he has a .977 OPS at home this season, and he’s crushed left-handed pitching (.338 AVG, 1.140 OPS). Oh, also, in his career, Riley is 8-for-27 with a .997 OPS against Corbin, and specifically in 2022, he’s 3-for-6 with two home runs against the Washington southpaw.

Salvador Perez OVER 1.5 Total Bases

Perez is 6-for-15 with two home runs in his career against Dylan Bundy, good for a .400 average and 1.267 OPS. Specifically over the last two seasons, Perez is 5-for-8 against Bundy! Perez has a .321 average and .536 SLG over his last seven games, and he’s sporting a .479 SLG at home in 2022. When looking at Dylan Bundy’s numbers, he’s allowed a 5.28 ERA on the road this season, not to mention a 1.80 HR/9 and .344 wOBA to right-handed hitters. In his last 12 contests, Perez has two or more total bases in seven of those games, including three of his last four games.

Other Leans:

  • Luis Castillo OVER 7.5 Strikeouts (OAK has league’s worst strikeout rate against RHP L7 & L14)
