Fantasy Football Week 15 Waiver Advice
Woof! Week 14 was a train wreck for many with injuries to Julio Jones, Matt Forte and Melvin Gordon likely handing their owners a first round loss in the playoffs. For those luckily enough to escape Week 14 with a win there are now more than a handful of top players to pick off the waiver wire because of these injuries. So lets get to it shall we? Here are the top players to add heading into Week 15 of the fantasy football season.
-FAAB bids based off of $100 budget
Quarterback
Colin Kaepernick, SF- Things were a little bit better for Kaepernick in Week 14 as he at least avoided being benched but overall his fantasy left more to be desired. In Week 15 he will have a prime opportunity to produce for his fantasy owners as he will face off against a Falcons defense that is allowing the most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks this season.
FAAB Bid $5-$10
Trevor Siemian, Den- Semien returned as the Broncos starter in Week 14 after missing Week 13 due to injury and threw for 334 yards and a touchdown against the Titans. In Week 15 Siemian will face a Patriots defense that tends to give up plenty of passing yards and will be playing in Denver where they have struggled to win over the past few years.
FAAB Bid $0-$5
Matt Moore, Mia– With Ryan Tannehill suffering a knee injury that will likely shelf him for the rest of the season those who owned him will likely be looking at Matt Moore on the waiver wire this week. Moore completed 3-of-5 passes for 47 yards against the Cardinals in Week 14 and was successful as a starter back in 2011 for the Dolphins which saw him throw for 2,497 yards with 16 touchdowns and nine interceptions. In Week 15 the Dolphins will be facing off against a Jets defense that has really struggled against the pass this season and should continue to struggle as they try and shut down Jarvis Landry, DeVante Parker and Kenny Stills.

Running Back
Kenneth Farrow, SD– The injury to Melvin Gordon will have fantasy owners scrambling to pick up Farrow this week after he carried the ball 16 times for 55 yards and added six catches for 23 yards against the Panthers in Week 14. In Week 15 Farrow will find himself with a favorable matchup against the Raiders who are allowing the eighth most fantasy points to opposing running backs this season. The Chargers have very favorable matchups this week and next week for those in the fantasy playoffs and Farrow could be the reason you win a championship.
FAAB Bid- All you have left
Bilal Powell, NYJ– Hopefully if you owned Matt Forte you already had Powell on your roster but if you didn’t then Powell will become one of the highest claimed players of Week 15. After Forte went out with an injury Powell went on to rush for 145 yard and two scores while adding five catches for 34 yards in the passing game. Powell is another player that fantasy owners should empty the bank on as the season is quickly coming to an end and the Jets run first approach should lead him to having a ton of usage in this offense.
FAAB Bid- All you have left
Ty Montgomery, GB– It’s sort of funny how the value of player’s fluctuate as it was just a few weeks ago where Montgomery was the hottest fantasy free agent with the Packers giving him extended run out of the backfield only for James Starks to return and Montgomery seemingly disappear from the Packers game plan. Well in Week 14 we once again saw Montgomery lead the Packers rushing attack with 41 yards and a touchdown on nine carries while adding three catches for 45 yards. It’s tough to project whether or not this just happened to be a one off game as Christine Michael saw a team high 10 touches but Montgomery is the more explosive of the two and is worth an add this week against a Bears defense that could struggle with his versatility.
FAAB Bid-$5-$10
Wide Receiver
Taylor Gabriel, Atl- Injuries to Julio Jones and Mohamed Sanu left Gabriel as the Falcons No.1 receiver in Week 14 against the Rams and he took that opportunity and turned it into three catches for 82 yards and a touchdown. The status for both Sanu and Jones is currently up in the air for the Falcons Week 15 matchup against the 49ers which could again lead to Gabriel being the top receiver on the Falcons depth chart and given that the 49ers are allowing the fourth most fantasy points to opposing receivers this season Gabriel should be in for a big day.
FAAB Bid- $10-15
Malcolm Mitchell, NE–Mitchell should be owned in more than 50 percent of standard leagues given his play of late yet here we are as he finds himself floating around most waiver wire pools. In Week 14 Mitchell caught four passes for 41 yards and a touchdown against a tough Ravens defense and has now caught four touchdown passes for the last four games. In Week 15 the Partiots will travel to Denver in what will be a very tough matchup but Mitchell’s growing chemistry with Tom Brady should lead to plenty of looks going his way as Denver should focus on stopping Julian Edelman and Martellus Bennett.
FAAB Bid- $5-$10
Pierre Garcon, Wsh– Garcon has been a very solid receiver this season for the Redskins, having caught 64 passes for 773 yards and three scores. In Week 14 he hauled in 5-of-6 targets for 59 yards and a touchdown against a tough Eagles secondary. Garcon is averaging just over seven targets a game this season and in Week 15 he will get to face off against a Panthers defense that is allowing the sixth most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers this season.
FAAB Bid- $0-$5
Tight End
Ladarius Green, Pit– Green failed to repeat his monster Week 13 output in Week 14 as he caught just two passes of his six targets for 25 yards against the Bills. In Week 15 he will have a shot at redemption against a Bengals defense that is allowing the third most fantasy points to opposing tight ends this season.
FAAB Bid $5-$10
Jermaine Gresham, Ari– Gresham has caught five passes in three straight games and has been targeted a total of 23 times during that stretch for 132 yards and one touchdown. The Cardinals passing attack has struggled this season due to the declining performance of Carson Palmer but Gresham has been a nice safety blanket for him in recent weeks and that trend should continue in Week 15 in what figures to be a high scoring affair against the Saints.
FAAB Bid- $0-$5
A.J. Derby, Den– I figure Derby to be a bit more geared up to play in Week 15 as he will face off against the Patriots who traded him to Denver earlier this season. In the last two games in which Trevor Siemian has started for Denver Derby has caught all nine of his targets for 100 yards. The Patriots defense tends to give up plenty of passing yards as part of their bend but don’t break approach and in the past have often struggled against opposing tight ends which at the very least should lead to another solid game from Derby if not a big one as New England likely focuses on shutting down Emmanuel Sanders and Demaryius Thomas.
