Weather Issues
The Marlins/Braves game has flash flood warnings and looks likely to be postponed.
The Rads/Tigers and the Rockies/Cardinals have less risk, but both are iffy to play without delay or postponement.
What’s Happening
Lots of trades happened at the deadline! More on the prospects side of things in tomorrow morning’s roundup.
The Tampa Bay Rays acquired Tommy Pham from the St. Louis Cardinals for Genesis Cabrera, Justin Williams , and Roel Ramirez. Apparently there was some bad blood between Pham and the Cardinals that played a role in him being moved. Pham will likely take over a corner outfield role with the Rays.
The Cleveland Indians acquired Leonys Martín and Kyle Dowdy from the Detroit Tigers for Willi Castro . The Indians have been linked to a number of more high profile outfielders, but Martin is having a bounceback season and can play center for the tribe.
The Philadelphia Phillies have acquired Wilson Ramos from the Tampa Bay Rays for a player to be named later or cash. Ramos has been a great catcher already this season in fantasy and will get a nice park boost from playing in Philadelphia.
The Dodgers have acquired Brian Dozier from the Minnesota Twins for Logan Forsythe , Devin Smeltzer, and Luke Raley. Dozier instantly becomes more valuable in an already great Dodgers lineup, while Forsythe also gains value by likely garnering a lot more playing time moving forward. The question becomes, how do the Dodgers get everyone into their lineup daily once they are healthy?
The Baltimore Orioles traded Kevin Gausman to the Atlanta Braves for Jean Carlos Encarnacion, Bruce Zimmermann, and Brett Cumberland. Gausman moves from the AL East to the NL East, so that helps and the stadium change from Camden Yards to SunTrust likely won’t be much different. If Gausman can put together an end of the year run like we have seen from him in the last few seasons, this could be a huge acquisition in NL Only leagues and for the Braves.
The Milwaukee Brewers have acquired Jonathan Schoop for Jonathan Villar , Luis Ortiz, and Jean Carmona. Schoop is expected to move to shortstop for the Brewers since the addition of Mike Moustakas has moved Travis Shaw to second base. This will likely impact the pitchers as much as the hitters as the Brewers sport the lowest BABIP for starting pitchers in the Majors and now have two unproven talents playing up the middle. Villar gains some value because he should get to play everyday in Baltimore, but the Orioles have been towards the bottom of the Majors in stolen bases over the last few seasons.
Jake Diekman has been acquired from the Texas Rangers for Wei-Chieh Huang and a player to be named later. Diekman might have had a little fantasy value for a minute, but now that he moves to Arizona, he definitely will not close. Jose Leclerc looks to be the next man up as closer in Texas.
The Tampa Bay Rays traded Chris Archer to the Pittsburgh Pirates for Austin Meadows , Tyler Glasnow , and a player to be named later. The Rays grab two former top prospects in Glasnow and Meadows that have years of control and a ton of upside. The Pirates give themselves a top of the rotation piece in Archer that is under team control on a reasonable deal for the next few seasons. All three get a nice big boost as Archer should benefit from the NL and PNC Park and both Meadows and Glasnow benefit from opportunity in Tampa. Meadows was optioned to AAA following the trade.
Cameron Maybin was traded from the Miami Marlins to the Seattle Mariners for Bryson Brigman. Maybin will likely provide some off the bench speed and centerfield defense for the Mariners and is only interesting in AL Only leagues.

The Chicago Cubs acquired Brandon Kintzler from the Washington Nationals for Jhon Romero.
The Blue Jays have traded John Axford to the Dodgers.
The White Sox have acquired Hunter Schryver from the Rays for international slot money.
Oscar Mercado was acquired from the St. Louis Cardinals by the Cleveland Indians for Connor Capel and Jhon Torres.
J.A. Happ was disagnosed with hand, foot, and mouth disease.
Chris Sale was placed on the DL with shoulder inflammation.
Brad Miller was released by the Brewers.
Dylan Cozens has been recalled by the Phillies.
Player News
Nationals optioned RHP Eduardo Salazar to Triple-A Rochester.
Salazar has allowed 17 runs on 28 hits in 15 2/3 innings for the Nationals out of the bullpen this season. He will head to the minors to make room for Michael Soroka on the active roster.
Eloy Jiménez went 3-for-5 with two RBI for Triple-A Durham on Tuesday.
After a slow start to the season, Jiménez has heated up of late, going 12-for-38 (.316) over his last 10 games with four extra base hits, one home run, and 12 RBI. That has also come with six strikeouts and three walks. There doesn’t appear to be any room for him in Tampa Bay, unless they want to play him in the outfield, but if he continues to hit like this, the Rays or some other MLB team will want to see if they can get him to produce at the big league level again.
Thairo Estrada (fractured wrist) has resumed swinging a bat with both hands.
Estrada, who fractured his wrist on March 21st when he was hit by a pitch, had been swinging a bat with one hand but progressed to full swings earlier this week. He will now continue to increase the velocity he’s facing and work himself back into game shape before beginning a rehab assignment. We could see him in the Rockies’ lineup by the middle of June.
Jake Cronenworth (ribs) could join the Padres in Colorado.
Cronenworth hit the ground running in his first rehab game on Tuesday, blasting a home run and walking three times. He’ll play another rehab game on Wednesday and could rejoin the Padres in Colorado on Friday. If he does return this weekend, that could mean that Tyler Wade moves back to his role as a utility player off the bench.
Nestor Cortes (elbow) has resumed playing catch.
The 30-year-old had a PRP injection in his left elbow after his start on April 3rd and has been shut down since then. He started playing catch earlier this week and will build up to long toss, bullpens, and then a rehab assignment. We’re still many weeks away from seeing him on a mound in Milwaukee.
Frankie Montas (lat) threw a bullpen on Monday.
This is the third bullpen session for Montas as he continues his throwing program following a lat strain he suffered in spring training. The veteran will need a full buildup, almost as a separate Spring Training, before he can be considered to rejoin the Mets rotation. The original plan was for him to return in early June, and if he progresses to a rehab assignment soon, that could still be in play for the 32-year-old.
