Another day of KBO action ensued while the major league players association and owners rejected each other's proposals to return to playing games. Perhaps its KBO games live on ESPN or the success of import pitchers (for the most part) in the league prompting pitcher formerly known as “The Dark Knight” to seek out employment overseas:

Not sure Harvey could handle the flare players in the KBO play with but highlights like this one remind me baseball should be a game played with passion and fun:

Plenty of bat flips again by first place NC Dinos winning their 21st game and blasting 20 home runs over their last nine contests. For reference, three teams in the KBO own the same number of home runs or fewer for the season. More good news from baseball in Asia with games in Taiwan moving to live fans attending them:
Taiwan pro league puts no limit on fans entering games starting Sunday. Keep in mind there have been ZERO locally transmitted cases of Covid there for 50 plus days. Zero! https://t.co/4kLZ7VROs6

South Korea’s not at this point yet but hoping to bring back fans once Covid-19 cases subside a bit more in their country. Time to transition to the top performances in the KBO from Friday morning.
Starting Pitching Spotlight
Not only do the Dinos bats fuel the team’s success, so does the pitching. Mike Wright won his fourth game firing six shutout innings giving up two hits and four walks with seven strikeouts. Wright lowered his ERA to 2.65 with a 1.18 WHIP and 31:16 K:BB through 34 innings this season. If Wright can succeed, can Harvey? Stay tuned.
Doosan’s Young-ha Lee logged six innings allowing two hits, one run (zero earned), and four walks with seven strikeouts in a no-decision. This marks his third quality outing in six starts for Lee.
Ricardo Pinto notched his third win working six innings yielding seven hits, one earned run, and a walk with five strikeouts. Although Pinto carries a 4.15 ERA and 1.70 WHIP, he has made four quality starts this year for the SK Wyverns in six turns.
Won-tae Choi evened his record at 2-2 throwing seven innings giving up five hits, two earned runs and striking out four for Kiwoom. Choi’s recorded a 3.44 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 24:6 K:BB over 34 innings.
Hitter Highlights
NC Dinos
It’s no surprise Sung-bun Na performed well in the Dinos lopsided victory. He went 3-for-5 with a double, and two home runs (9,10) driving in four and walked.

This marks Na’s third straight multiple hit game and he has homered three times in his last three contests. Entering games on Saturday, Na’s second in the KBO in home runs, tied for first in runs (26) and fifth in RBI (26). Pretty, pretty good.
However, a hidden gem this year for NC, Jin-sung Kang, continues to surge going 2-for-4 with a double, three RBI and this shot:

After accruing enough plate appearances this year, Kang’s robust .443/.500/.716 slash line features the now league leading average and on-base percentage while ranking second in slugging percentage. Kang’s driven in 23 runs in 24 games in 2020. Plus, teammate Aaron Altherr stayed hot with a double, his seventh home run, and two RBI in four at-bats. Over his last 10 games, Altherr’s hitting .382 (13-for-34) with four home runs and 15 RBI. Also contributing to the Dinos win:
- Min-woo Park (2B) - Went 3-for-5 with a run, double, RBI, and his fourth stolen base.
- Jin-hyuk No (SS) - Finished 1-for-2 with two runs and walked twice.
Kiwoom Heroes
- Ha-seong Kim (SS) - Racked up two more hits in a combo meal. Kim went 2-for-3 with two runs, his fifth home run, three RBI, walked and stole his fourth base. He’s on a six-game hit streak during which he’s 12-for-25 (.480) with nine runs, two home runs, 10 RBI, six walks and two stolen bases.
- Jung-hoo Lee (OF) Extended his hit streak to nine games going 2-for-4 with a run and a double.
- Dong-won Park (C) - Launched his seventh home run and drove in three during a 2-for-3 contest. Park’s tied for third in RBI in the KBO with 27 and boasts a .356/.394/.678 slash line.

He’s back...Roberto Ramos hit his 11th home run:

In a loss, Roberto Ramos carried the Twins offense going 2-for-4 with the two home runs and three RBI. He’s fifth in the league in batting average (.368) while leading in both home runs (12) and slugging percentage (.800).
Lotte Giants
- Chi-hong An (2B) - Hit his second home run and scored two runs with an RBI in four at-bats.
- Dae-Ho Lee (1B) - Blasted his third home run, scored twice, drove in three and walked in four plate appearances.
KT Wiz
- Sang-cheol Moon (1B) - Moved to second in the batting order and responded with his second home run driving in one during a 2-for-3 game. Moon’s notched back-to-back multi-hit games with three extra-base hits (two doubles, one home run) in them.
- Yong-ho Jo (DH) - Moved his hit streak to five going 1-for-4 with a run and recorded a hit in eight of his last nine.
- Mel Rojas Jr. (OF) - Somehow overshadowed by other import bats, Rojas Jr. launched his ninth home run driving in two. He’s homered five times in his last five games with 14 RBI.
- Kyung-soo Park (2B) - Went 1-for-2 with his fourth home run, drove in one, walked and reached via hit-by-pitch.
Looking ahead to Saturday’s slate, NC Dinos will try to win its fourth in a row with ace Chang-mo Koo on the mound in Hanwha. Koo owns a minuscule 0.51 ERA with 38 strikeouts through 35 innings this season. Doosan sends Chris Flexen up against fellow import Drew Gagnon (Kia) in a tough match-up both teams need to win. Be sure to stay with Fantasy Alarm to remain ahead of the competition as sports continue to resurface across the landscape.

Player News
Trea Turner went 3-for-5 and drove in a pair of runs on Sunday night, propelling the Phillies to a 3-1 victory over the Cubs at Wrigley Field.
Turner got the Phillies on the board in the third inning with an RBI single off of Jameson Taillon that plated Bryson Stott. He then strolled to the dish with the bases loaded and one out in the 10th inning, and hit a slow roller to third base that he beat out at first to bring in another run. With his three-hit attack, the 31-year-old infielder is now slashing .262/.345/.330 on the season with just one homer, nine RBI and six stolen bases.
Bryson Stott tripled, walked and scored a run on Sunday night as the Phillies eked out an extra-inning victory over the Cubs in Chicago.
Stott smacked a one-out triple off of Jameson Taillon in the third inning then scored the Phillies’ first run on the night as Trea Turner smacked a single into left field. He also worked a walk during his squad’s two-run rally in the 10th inning. For the season, the 27-year-old second baseman is now hitting .292/.367/.438 with two homers, 14 RBI and five stolen bases.
Jordan Romano notched his second save of the season on Sunday night, working a scoreless 10th inning against the Cubs to protect a two-run lead.
The 32-year-old right-hander looked sharp in this one, getting Michael Busch on strikes to start the inning and then Dansby Swanson on a fly ball to left field. He then got Nico Hoerner on a comebacker to end the ballgame. He’s still buried on the depth chart for saves at the moment, but it’s nice to see Romano start to figure things out on the mound, throwing 10 of his 13 pitches for strikes on Sunday. He still sports a horrifying 12.19 ERA on the season.
Aaron Nola pitched well in a no-decision against the Cubs on Sunday evening, allowing one run on three hits over his seven innings.
The 31-year-old right-hander racked up six strikeouts in what was his finest start of the season while allowing only one base on balls. The only damage done against him came on an RBI double off the bat of Pete Crow-Armstrong in the second inning. Aside from that, Nola was in complete command. He got 16 swings and misses on 99 pitches on the night — four or more on each of his changeup, knuckle curve and cutter — while posting a CSW of 30 percent. He’ll look to further improve upon his 5.40 ERA and 1.40 WHIP when he takes on the Diamondbacks at home on Saturday.
Ryan Pressly (knee) looked terrific in his return to action on Sunday night, working a scoreless ninth inning in a tied game against the Phillies.
Pressly was tasked with facing the heart of the Phillies’ lineup and got right to work — getting Trea Turner on a ground ball to third base and Bryce Harper on a ground ball to shortstop. He then issued a two-out walk to Kyle Schwarber before retiring Nick Castellanos on a fly ball to end the inning. The right-hander showed no signs of his right knee issue bothering him and his velocity was exactly where you’d hope it would be. It looks like Pressly still has a lock on the closer’s gig for the time being.
Jameson Taillon was outstanding in a no-decision against the Phillies on Sunday night, surrendering only one run on five hits over seven strong frames.
The right-hander struck out two batters on the evening and did not issue a free pass. He induced a ton of weak contact and kept the Phillies’ hitters off-balance for much of the evening. The only run that scored against him came on an RBI single by Trea Turner in the third inning. Taillon got just four whiffs on 88 pitches on the night, registering a CSW of 20 percent. The 33-year-old hurler now boasts a 4.05 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and a 26/7 K/BB ratio over 33 2/3 innings through his first six starts on the season. He’ll take on the Brewers his next time out in Milwaukee on Saturday.
