Kevin Gausman Chalkboard Fantasy MLB Pick: More Than 4.5 Strikeouts

After a poor 2024 season, Gausman is looking like the “ace” of the Blue Jays staff once again, as he comes off back-to-back strong outings against the Atlanta Braves and Boston Red Sox.

Today he faces a Houston Astros team with a 23% strikeout rate against right-handed pitching, 10th highest in the league and an offense that has largely struggled against right-handed pitching as a whole this season.

Gausman’s strikeout projection is set at 4.5 and in his last two outings he’s finished with six and 10 strikeouts.

As long as he pitches deep into this game, the 4.5 strikeout mark shouldn’t be too much trouble to make.

 

 

 

Robbie Ray Chalkboard Fantasy MLB Pick: More Than 5.5 Strikeouts

Strikeouts and walks are the name of the game when it comes to Robbie Ray. He throws a lot of pitches, walks a lot of guys and tends to limit the damage against him thanks to his ability to miss bats.

Today he faces a Brewers team that really struggles against left-handed pitching, owning a 23% strikeout rate with a .235 average, .094 ISO and a .285 wOBA.

If Ray can last long enough in this game, the 5.5 strikeouts projection is a number he has eclipsed in each of his last two starts.
