Kyle Tucker , OF HOU
Anyone understand this pricing? I sure don’t. I forgot Garrett Richards was Roger Clemens or Cy Young in their respective primes. Tucker under $4K on DK and only $3K on FD is criminal. You’re getting away with a STEAL. Tucker has driven in seven runs over the last two games and finished the month of May slashing .296/.378/.561. Garrett Richards struggles with left-handed bats allowing them to bat .291 with a .347 wOBA.
Garrett Cooper , 1B/OF MIA
Talk about someone who’s lighting the world on fire! Over his last ten games, Cooper has slashed .469/528/.875 with six extra-base hits, three of which are homers, and nine runs batted in. Ray has been susceptible to the home run ball this year as he’s tied with Kyle Hendricks for the league lead in HR allowed with 14. 12 of them have been against righties and Cooper has crushed lefties with a .289 AVG and .365 wOBA himself.
DraftKings
Max Fried , SP ATL
I mean, there’s really no reason a pitcher of Fried’s caliber should be only $7,500, but here we are. Since his debacle against Miami, Fried has responded with four straight outings in which he’s allowed only one earned run in each outing, while putting up 16+ DKP. Over the last two weeks, Washington has struggled offensively ranking 21st in OPS and wOBA.
Bryan Reynolds , OF PIT
It’s in our best interest to target this game with the pitchers that are involved. Brady Singer allowed six earned in just 2.2 innings of work last time out and now has a 4.91 ERA on the year. Reynolds is on a bit of a power surge hitting three home runs over his last five games. He has a very solid .808 OPS and .358 wOBA against right-handed pitching.
FanDuel
Josh Donaldson , 3B MIN
There have been some signs of life from Donaldson at the dish recently, notching a hit in three straight games, four-of-five overall and on Monday he went 3-for-4 with two doubles. He now gets a match-up with Bruce Zimmmerman who’s allowing 2.0 HR/9 and can’t seemingly get right-handed hitters out. RHH have a .293 AVG, .860 OPS and .370 wOBA against him. For his career, Donaldson has a robust .942 OPS against southpaws.
Ryan McMahon , 2B/3B COL
FanDuel is baiting us. They realllllly want us to play members of this game. McMahon is only $3,000 in Coors Field. He’s been the best hitter on the team all year long and over the last 10 games, he’s slashed .300/.382/.733 with four home runs. He faces Dane Dunning who has not enjoyed pitching away from home this year. Dunning had a 7.97 road ERA and now has to pitch in Coors. McMahon is a core play on FanDuel.
Player News
Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters Monday that Marcus Stroman is still dealing with left knee issues.
It certainly doesn’t sound like Stroman is close to making it back to New York’s rotation mix at any point in the near future. The 33-year-old righty received a cortisone injection a couple weeks ago after landing on the shelf with left knee inflammation and has yet to resume throwing. It’s looking like he’ll be out until sometime around midseason.
Rangers selected the contract of RHP Dane Dunning from Triple-A Round Rock.
Dunning rejoins the Rangers’ relief mix just a couple weeks after being jettisoned from the club’s 40-man roster altogether. The 30-year-old righty failed to make Texas’ season-opening roster, but he’ll get another look in long relief after posting a pedestrian 5.40 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and 21/9 K/BB ratio across 20 innings (five starts) for Triple-A Round Rock in the hitter-friendly Pacific Coast League. He can be safely ignored in all fantasy formats.
Rangers optioned RHP Caleb Boushley to Triple-A Round Rock.
Boushley heads back to the minors after posting a serviceable 5.87 ERA across 7 2/3 innings (three appearances) for the Rangers since his call-up back on April 8.
Orioles claimed LHP Walter Pennington off waivers from the Rangers.
Pennington will head to Triple-A Norfolk as extra organizational relief depth after being claimed off release waivers from the Rangers. The 27-year-old southpaw made 16 relief appearances last year between the Rangers and Royals in his shot at the highest level.
Daniel Álvarez-Montes of El Extrabase reports Luis Arraez (concussion) is expected to be activated for Tuesday’s series opener against the Giants.
Arraez landed on the 7-day concussion injured list last Monday following a scary on-field collision the previous night in Houston. The 28-year-old infielder dealt with concussion symptoms for a couple days last week, but has been symptom-free of late and was able to complete workouts. All signs point to him being ready to return for Tuesday’s showdown in San Diego.
Rangers released LHP Walter Pennington.
Pennington was cut loose by the Rangers after passing through waivers unclaimed following his removal from the club’s 40-man roster last week. The 27-year-old lefty made 16 relief appearances last year between the Rangers and Royals in his first taste of the big leagues. There should be some interest on the open market, but he’ll likely have to settle for a minor league contract.
