It’s a big 13-game slate on Tuesday evening and in those big slates, value plays can make all the difference in winning lineups. In this piece we’ll go over some value plays at pitcher and position players for each site that should out do their pricing on those sites. There aren’t really any weather concerns on the slate today either with the only rain games are being played at domed stadiums.
Both Sites
Ian Anderson , RHP ATL - Anderson is squarely in the mid-tier pricing-wise on both sites while facing one of the worst offenses in the league. The Cubs are top-five on the season in K-rate against RHP at 27.3-percent and 20th in wRC+ at 87. Even though they’ve been warming up, they’re still striking out 27.6-percent the last week or so against righties. Anderson will need to watch the walks, but he’s coming off his best start of the year DFS-wise and is a good spot tonight.
Bobby Dalbec, 1B BOS - Things haven’t exactly gone all that well for Dalbec as he’s yet to go yard this year, but he’s looked good against southpaws so far, going 10-for-22 on the year for a .455 AVG and .479 wOBA. David Peterson (R)">David Peterson isn’t exactly the stiffest test on the mound with an OPS of over .850 allowed to RHHs.
DraftKings
Alex Dickerson , OF SF - Dickerson is 6-for-10 with an RBI and a .636 wOBA off of Chi Chi González in their previous meetings. Add to that that Dickerson has hit three homers off of RHPs this year with a solid .284 wOBA and that Gonzalez hasn’t been good against LHHs to this point, we have a nice case to play dickerson at a nice and cheap price. He’s also been hitting fourth or fifth in the Giants’ lineup most of the year.
Jake Cronenworth, 2B/SS SD - Cronenworth has been a bit of a spark plug for the Padres’ offense this year doing a little bit of everything. Facing Merrill Kelly , he should have another solid day at the plate. Cronenworth has a .324 wOBA against RHP while Kelly is allowing a .356 wOBA to LHHs with an OPS north of .860 as well. He can get you part of the Padres’ offense while being budget-friendly.
FanDuel
Marcus Semien , 2B TOR - Semien is just $2,900 on FanDuel and he’s been smoking RHP this year with five homers, nine RBI, and a .336 wOBA already in 63 at-bats. I get that Max Scherzer is on the mound for the Nationals today, however, he’s been gettable early in games this year and if Semien and get him early, he could bring value back in a hurry.
Jazz Chisholm Jr. , 2B MIA - Chisholm faced off against Burnes last night and still managed to produce including two stolen bases. Facing Adrian Houser is an easier task and Houser hasn’t been great against lefty hitters giving up a .363 wOBA to them while Chisholm has a .376 wOBA and three homers off of RHPs this year. The dual threat of a steal or two and a homer is too hard to pass up and if you want to play both Semien and Chisholm, well that’s what the UTIL spot is for.
Player News
Nolan Arenado was scratched from Wednesday’s lineup due to back spasms.
Arenado was scratched mere moments before the first pitch of Wednesday’s game. The 34-year-old will likely miss a game or two at least, but his status for the weekend will be determined over the coming days. Nolan Gorman will likely get the starts at third as long as Arenado can’t play.
Marlins optioned RHP George Soriano to Triple-A Jacksonville.
Soriano has been atrocious with Miami this year while allowing 17 runs in 18 1/3 innings. He’ll try and get right in the minors with Cade Gibson now occupying his roster spot.
Marlins recalled LHP Cade Gibson from Triple-A Jacksonville.
Gibson gives the Marlins a fresh bullpen arm. The 27-year-old threw 2 1/3 scoreless innings in his only appearance with Miami back in April.
Dodgers recalled RHP Landon Knack from Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Knack gets to make a spot start against the Marlins on Wednesday. The 27-year-old has struggled in his time with the Dodgers this season, but there are worse streaming options; mainly due to him facing one of the weaker lineups in the sport.
Dodgers optioned RHP J.P. Feyereisen to Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Feyereisen heads back to Triple-A to make room for Landon Knack. Feyereisen should be up and down throughout the 2025 campaign as long as the Dodgers keep him on the 40-man roster.
Leody Taveras is hitting seventh and playing right field against the Athletics on Wednesday.
Taveras will be making his Seattle debut against Gunnar Hoglund and the Athletics in the series finale. The 26-year-old has occasionally flashed offensive upside, but while he will get playing time against right-handed pitching, his chances of being a fantasy-relevant player seem slim based on his struggles the last year-plus.
