Michael Soroka (biceps) will be activated to start on Wednesday against the Guardians.

Soroka has been on the shelf since April 4 recovering from a right biceps strain. The 27-year-old righty showed some promise in spring training, but fantasy managers should take a wait-and-see approach before rostering him, especially in shallow mixed leagues.

Bobby Witt Jr. went 1-for-5 and delivered a walk-off RBI single in the ninth inning on Tuesday, propelling the Royals to a 4-3 victory over the White Sox.

The Royals entered the ninth inning trailing 3-2, but they tied the game on an error with one out, setting the stage for Witt to bat with the bases juiced. He then crushed a ball to center field that fell in for a single and plated Drew Waters with the winning run. On the season, the 24-year-old superstar is now slashing .310/.383/.493 with four homers, 19 RBI and 11 stolen bases.

Kyle Isbel went 1-for-3 and swatted a solo home run on Tuesday night as the Royals rallied to beat the White Sox.

Isbel tagged White Sox’ right-hander Sean Burke for his 391-foot (106.0 mph EV) solo shot in the sixth inning, pulling the Royals to within a run at 2-1. Isbel also dropped down a sacrifice bunt, popped out and hit into a fielder’s choice in the ballgame. He has had a slow start to the 2025 season offensively, slashing .247/.250/.393 with three long balls and 12 RBI.

Seth Lugo pitched well in a no-decision against the White Sox on Tuesday, giving up two runs (one earned) on seven hits across his 6 2/3 innings.

The 35-year-old right-hander walked three and struck out three opposing hitters on the evening. The White Sox scratched out a run on an RBI single by Brooks Baldwin in the fourth inning, then they added an unearned run on a throwing error made by Jonathan India in the sixth. Lugo got five swings and misses on 98 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 23 percent. He’ll look to get back in the win column as he carries a 2.84 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and a 37/15 K/BB ratio (50 2/3 innings) into Sunday’s showdown against the Red Sox.

Matt Thaiss went 2-for-3 and scored a pair of runs on Tuesday as the White Sox dropped a heartbreaker to the Royals.

The 30-year-old backstop drew a rare start as the team’s designated hitter and batted third for the White Sox on Tuesday. He led off the fourth inning with a single off of Seth Lugo then scored the game’s first run on a two-out RBI single off the bat of Brooks Baldwin. Thaiss also led off the sixth inning with a single, took second on a wild pitch and ultimately scored on an error by Jonathan India. Even with the two-hit attack though, he’s hitting just .228/.392/.351 on the season with one homer and seven RBI in his first 74 plate appearances.

Cam Booser suffered a blown save against the Royals on Tuesday night, giving up two unearned runs on two hits and a walk in just 1/3 of an inning.

The 33-year-old southpaw was called upon to protect a one-run lead in the ninth inning, but he made the grave mistake of allowing a leadoff walk to Mark Canha. Drew Waters then reached on an error and Freddy Fermin on a bunt single that loaded the bases to start the inning. After getting Kyle Isbel to pop out, Mark Canha scored on an error by shortstop Jacob Amaya. Bobby Witt Jr. then delivered the final blow with and walk-off RBI single to deep center. The White Sox still don’t have a set closer and even though Tuesday’s chance wasn’t entirely his fault, don’t expect Booser to earn the next opportunity.
