DFS MLB Hitting Coach: September 3

The early slate is pretty straightforward, though I will say I like it a bit better for DraftKings just because you get a bit more lineup flexibility with players that are eligible at more than one position. In the late slate, I think the differences between positions are very interesting. There are a lot of expensive options, especially at second base, third base and in the outfield. At catcher and first base, you will almost certainly wind up with a mid-priced player, while shortstop the best position to save some money, especially on FantasyAces.

Evan Gattis has three home runs in his last seven games, and he has an .889 OPS against left-handed pitchers this season.

Jonathan Lucroy is 10-for-19 during his six-game hitting streak.

J.T. Realmuto is 8-for-12 with two home runs over his last three games.

Stephen Vogt is 7-for-19 with a home run during his five-game hitting streak.

Wilson Ramos is 8-for-23 with a home run during his six-game hitting streak.

Mitch Moreland has a .791 OPS against right-handed pitchers this season and he is one of the cheapest first basemen in the early slate.

Joe Mauer is 15-for-46 against James Shields and 7-for-20 during his five-game hitting streak.

Jose Abreu is 11-for-23 with two home runs during his five-game hitting streak.

Hanley Ramirez is 8-for-15 with two home runs during his four-game hitting streak.

C.J. Cron is 16-for-37 with three home runs during his nine-game hitting streak.

Logan Forsythe is 5-for-11 with a home run against Marco Estrada and 7-for-18 over the last week.

Rougned Odor is 8-for-14 with four home runs during his last three games.

Greg Garcia is 8-for-16 over the last seven days.

It is unfortunate that so many of the top hitters in the early slate play second base, but at least Nick Franklin is outfield eligible on DraftKings. Franklin is 7-for-19 with a home run in six games since coming off the disabled list.

Robinson Cano is 5-for-9 with a stolen base against Tyler Skaggs.

Dustin Pedroia is 6-for-13 since returning from his two-game absence. Overall Pedroia is 21-for-38 during his nine-game hitting streak.

Ian Kinsler is 8-for-25 against Yordano Ventura and 6-for-15 with a home run during his four-game hitting streak.

Brian Dozier is 9-for-24 with two home runs against James Shields and 10-for-29 with three home runs during his seven-game hitting streak.

Alex Bregman has failed to get a hit in just three of his last 25 games and he has a .346 wOBA against left-handed pitchers this season.

Yulieski Gurriel is 8-for-20 over his last six games. Right-handed batters have a .330 wOBA against Derek Holland.

Josh Donaldson has an 11-game hitting streak, and he is batting .476 over the last week.

Adonis Garcia is 9-for-18 during his four-game hitting streak.

Manny Machado is 13-for-40 against CC Sabathia.

Travis Shaw is 6-for-14 over his last three games.

Nolan Arenado has five consecutive multi-hit games, batting .542 over that span.

Kyle Seager is 5-for-10 with a home run against Tyler Skaggs and 7-for-22 over the last week.

Carlos Correa is 5-for-8 with two home runs against Derek Holland and 11-for-28 during his eight-game hitting streak.

Jose Peraza is 6-for-11 over the last week and

Angel Pagan is 4-for-8 with three stolen bases against Jake Arrieta. Normally that wouldn’t be enough for me to recommend playing him, but it is good enough in a short slate.

George Springer has a .414 wOBA against left-handed pitchers this season.

Adam Eaton is 4-for-9 against Hector Santiago and 6-for-9 with six runs scored over his last two games.

Andrew Toles is 6-for-8 with a home run over his last four games.

A.J. Pollock is 7-for-15 with a home run during his four-game hitting streak and he is a pretty nice value on DraftKings.

Ender Inciarte is a bit overpriced on DraftKings, but he is reasonably priced on the other sites considering he is batting .370/.424/.478 since the All-Star break.
Nolan Reimold is 14-for-41 against CC Sabathia.

Brock Holt is 8-for-21 during his six-game hitting streak.

Charlie Blackmon is 10-for-29 with two home runs over the last week.

David Dahl is 10-for-24 with one home run over that same span.

J.D. Martinez is 7-for-16 against Yordano Ventura and 6-for-15 during his four-game hitting streak.

Mike Trout is 8-for-10 with two home runs against Taijuan Walker and 8-for-15 with two home runs during his four-game hitting streak.

Byron Buxton is 3-for-6 with a home run in his two games back in the majors and right-handed batters have a .397 wOBA against James Shields this season.

Eddie Rosario has been even better lately, going 9-for-26 during his seven-game hitting streak.

Jay Bruce is 6-for-15 during his four-game hitting streak.

Brett Gardner is 7-for-22 with a home run against Kevin Gausman and 5-for-13 over his last three games.

Starling Marte is 6-for-18 with three stolen bases against Jimmy Nelson and 9-for-22 over his last five games.

Franklin Gutierrez is 3-for-5 with a home run against Tyler Skaggs and 5-for-11 during his four-game hitting streak.

Trea Turner is 9-for-23 with a home run and four stolen bases over the last week.
