We have another split slate Wednesday with a 7-game early slate (12:10 PM ET/9:10 AM PT roster lock) and an 8-game late slate (7:05 PM ET/4:05 PM ET roster lock).
And not exactly sure why, but FanDuel and Fantasy Aces do not have the Braves/Marlins game in their early slate games. If need be, they can still be used in All-Day contests on FanDuel.
Pitching wise, the two chalk plays of the night are going to be Noah Syndergaard for the early slate and Jake Arrieta for the late slate. So again, I will be including a good amount of value plays throughout the article.
But keep in mind, the two games that should have weather issues are going to be the Cardinals/Cubs and Phillies/Twins. You’ll definitely need to keep that in mind as you’re constructing your lineup. Be sure to check for weather updates prior to roster lock.

EARLY SLATE
Brian McCann hasn’t had too great of a season, but the power is still there, and his splits against righties are very favorable at home, where he has batted .262/.360/.508 with four homers this season.
Russell Martin is batting .302/.448/.512 with two homers over his last 15 games. He has always performed better against lefties and has a .354 wOBA against southpaws throughout his career.
Tyler Flowers is consistently one of my favorite punt plays when he faces a left-handed pitcher. I mention time and time again that he has a lot of power, and has been able to demonstrate his power throughout his time in the Majors. Still, he is also getting on base fairly consistently, bringing up his over OBP to .342.
LATE SLATE
Buster Posey will cost you a pretty penny, but he’s by far the best catcher play of the night. He is coming off of a big game last night where he went 2-for-4 with a double, walk, two runs, and an RBI. I don’t mind picking on Francisco Liriano tonight, especially because he has been a mixed bag without Francisco Cervelli behind the plate.
Matt Wieters and the rest of the Orioles get an amazingly good matchup tonight against Erik Johnson of the Padres. Johnson has a career xFIP of 5.07 and is maintaining a HR/9 of 4.03 this season. The Orioles may actually be the worst team that Johnson could possibly face tonight.
Victor Martinez was a bit of a downer last night, but I really see him rebounding tonight thanks to his matchup against Hisashi Iwakuma, who he has batted .500/.571/1.083 with two homers against, lifetime, over 14 career plate appearances.
Kurt Suzuki has been one of those “Kenneth Le” only type of plays over the last few weeks, but hey, I’ll take the production that no one seems to expect from the veteran catcher. He is quietly batting .365/.377/.635 with three home runs and 14 RBIs in the month of June, yet still remains a great price throughout the industry.

EARLY SLATE
Anthony Rizzo has had a ton of success throughout his career against Michael Wacha. Rizzo has gone 11-for-25 (.440 AVG) with two homers and four RBIs against the Cardinals righty. It is definitely promising to see that Rizzo has reached base safely in 14 for his last 23 plate appearances, while homering three times.
Mark Reynolds may be a strikeout machine, but he is still batting a respectable .288 this season, largely because he has been more willing to take the ball to right field. He is the one Rockies player that has homered off of CC Sabathia, and is just one day removed from his double dong day against the Marlins.
Justin Bour is a great price throughout the industry and gets a great matchup against Matt Wisler who has given up a 1.73 HR/9 against left-handed hitters this season.
LATE SLATE
Chris Davis gets that crazy good matchup against Erik Johnson of the Padres. I don’t call home runs often, but if Davis doesn’t get walked in each of his at-bats against Johnson, he’s going to hit one out of the ballpark.
Will Myers is having a June to remember, batting .360/.419/.827 with nine homers, eight doubles, and 23 RBIs in just 75 at-bats. Ubaldo Jimenez? Nah, I’m not really worried about that.
Jose Abreu has doubled in each of his last four games. He tends to be very up and down, but he’s obviously locked in right now. He’ll matchup tonight against Eduardo Rodriguez, who currently has a pitiful 6.15 xFIP, 2.61 HR/9, and 50% Fly Ball Rate this season.
Prince Fielder remains a pretty good value option on a nightly basis. Struggles or not, we know what he can do at the plate. Believe it or not, my biggest gripe with him is his tendency of getting pinch-ran for in the late innings which limits his point potential.

EARLY SLATE
Devon Travis will continue to be a very appealing play in DFS as long as he is batting in the two-hole, in front of Donaldson and Encarnacion. He is currently in the middle of an 8-game hitting streak, where he has gone 14-for-31 (.452 AVG) with two homers, five doubles, and nine RBIs.
Scooter Gennett is still doing a great job at the plate and has gone 12-for-35 (.343 AVG) with two homers, four doubles, and five RBIs over his last nine starts.
Chase d'Arnaud has been very consistent this season, and he done a great job against lefties, batting .315/.351/.426. If you need a cheap punt play at second base, he’s a guy who people tend to ignore, even though he has done a very good job at getting on base, and running the bases.
LATE SLATE
Ian Kinsler has batted .379/.438/.759 with three homers over 32 career at-bats against Hisashi Iwakuma of the Mariners.
Brian Dozier has been one of my favorite players to roster consistently over the last few weeks. As I’ve mentioned before, even with his struggles throughout the season, he has still be crushing lefties, going .302/.434/.512 against them this season.
Jonathan Schoop is a much better hitter against right-handed pitchers. Over the last two seasons, Schoop has hit 23 of his 27 home runs off of righties.
Jose Peraza may not get the start, but if he does, he’ll be a great value play tonight. Supposedly he remained in the big leagues because the Reds knew they could use him with the DH in play in Arlington, so I’m hoping he’ll get an opportunity.

EARLY SLATE
Josh Donaldson gets a great matchup against Robbie Ray, who is getting crushed whenever his opponents make solid contact with the ball. His Hard Hit Rate allowed is 35.8%, which is the 12th worst in Major League Baseball.
Nolan Arenado may have what “seems” to be a “tough” matchup against CC Sabathia and his 2.20 ERA, but believe it or not, CC’s 4.52 xFIP is the worst of his career. All of his peripherals suggest that CC is going to regress, and I wouldn’t be surprised if its starts today against the Rockies, who have gained quite a bit of momentum over the last few games. Love his price on DraftKings.
Jefry Marte is a solid high upside play for someone at such reasonable price throughout the industry. With Albert Pujols likely sitting out again, Marte should be back in the lineup against Lance McCullers and the Astros. If you don’t want to go this route, I am also okay with Wilmer Flores.
LATE SLATE
Todd Frazier is the Mr. Boom or Bust in Fantasy Baseball, but his ability to crush the ball always has him in play in GPPs. He’s a very reasonable price tonight given his matchup against the home run prone Eduardo Rodriguez.
Pedro Alvarez went double dong last night, and I suppose has a similar likelihood as Crush at hitting a home run against Erik Johnson.
Juan Uribe will get a bit of a heat check tonight as he faces Chris Archer of the Rays. Believe it or not, Uribe has homered in each of his last four games. He has hit for power for most of his career, so it isn’t too much of a surprise, but still, he’s 37-years young, which makes this feat absolutely mind-boggling.
Trevor Plouffe just doesn’t get enough credit as a solid hitter and especially so against lefties. From 2013-to-2015, Plouffe has batted .273/.354/.439 while homering 10 times in 417 at-bats against southpaws.

EARLY SLATE
Jonathan Villar may be a bit pricey today, but I always like to target base stealers against younger pitchers because they tend to struggle holding on runners. While Daniel Mengden is a good talent who has done a solid job over his first two MLB starts, he still has questionable command, walking five batters over his first 12 MLB innings.
Troy Tulowitzki remains a great price throughout the industry, and has gone 4-for-7 (.571 AVG) with a homer, double, three runs, and two RBIs over this last two games.
Asdrubal Cabrera is 4-for-10 (.400 AVG) with a double in his previous meetings against Danny Duffy of the Royals. Cabrera may be a switch hitter, but he has done much better as a RHH, batting .302/.371/.397 this season against southpaws.
LATE SLATE
Zack Cozart wasn’t featured in the Hitting Coach last night, but I did mention that he was a great value on DraftKings. As it turns out, he would have been a phenomenal play, and was the best hitting option of the night. He has a solid history against Cole Hamels while still priced the same on DraftKings tonight.
Danny Espinosa is a SoCal product who went to the MLB breeding grounds of Long Beach State University. He had a heckuva night last night, going 2-for-3 with a homer and a walk. His 13 home runs and superb defense have the Nationals happy to be without Ian Desmond. He has been much improved against lefties in recent weeks, and I think he can do damage against Julio Urias.
J.J. Hardy had another two-hit game last night and is now 4-for-9 (.444 AVG) in his last two starts. Orioles are going to be filling up this article, but Hardy may be the cheapest way to get exposure to the O’s.
Tim Anderson has been rock solid since coming up to the Majors a few weeks ago. He has hits in seven of his last eight games, where he has combined to go 12-for-39 (.308 AVG) with a homer, triple, three doubles, and six runs.

EARLY SLATE
Yoenis Cespedes struggled hard against lefties last season, but you can throw that out the window, because he has killed lefties in 2016. Cespedes is batting .349/.491/.674 with four homers against lefties this season.
Marcell Ozuna got the night off last night, but should be back in action today against Matt Wisler and the Braves. Ozuna had three homers in his two previous starts, and faces Wisler, who allows the 2nd highest Hard Hit Rate among pitchers in the Majors.
Khris Davis sadly didn’t get to face his old mates when the A’s made the trip to Milwaukee a few weeks ago, but he’s definitely getting his chance to redeem himself tonight against Junior Guerra.
Christian Yelich would probably be more of a consistent name in the Hitting Coach articles if his price weren’t so high throughout the industry. Nonetheless, he gets a great matchup against Matt Wisler, who he has gone 3-for-4 (.750 AVG) with a double and stolen base against in their previous meetings.
Colby Rasmus has had a good amount of success throughout his career against Matt Shoemaker. Rasmus is 4-for-10 (.400 AVG) with a homer, lifetime, against the Angels right-hander.
Yasmany Tomas has homered three times over his last four starts. He is spending most of his time facing southpaws nowadays, and rightfully so, considering he has blasted lefties to the tune of .333/.397/.667 and six homers in just 66 at-bats.
Peter O'Brien has been poo this season against right-handed pitching, but his three hits in 11 at-bats this season against southpaws have all gone out of the park.
Rickie Weeks will likely get the start today against J.A. Happ of the Blue Jays. Weeks has absolutely demolished Happ throughout his career, going 8-for-19 (.421 AVG) with two homers, three doubles, and three RBIs. Yes, there’s a lot of D-Backs outfielders listed here today, but a good matchup is a good matchup.
Stephen Piscotty at just $2300 on FanDuel is an option regardless of the fact that he’s facing Jake Arrieta. Piscotty has gone 8-for-27 (.296 AVG) with a homer, four doubles, six walks, and three RBIs over his last eight games.
LATE SLATE
Ian Desmond was taken out of the game, inexplicably, after just three plate appearances last night. It doesn’t really change though because he is still swinging a super hot bat, having gone 14-for-38 (.368 AVG) with two homers, three doubles, five walks, seven runs, and six RBIs over his last 10 games.
Mookie Betts should not be in your cash game lineups considering he is 0-for-8 over his last two games, but we all know what he’s capable of doing at the plate. I like him in GPPs tonight. Even with his struggles, he is still batting .301/.333/.530 with eight home runs in Fenway Park.
Adam Jones has been a much better batter in the leadoff spot this season. Jones is batting .277/.309/.554 while hitting eight of his 13 homers this season batting leadoff.
Rajai Davis got the night off last night, but I’d be surprised if he doesn’t start tonight against Chris Archer. Like I mentioned before, Davis is still using his speed on a consistent basis, and even has eight stolen bases over his last 10 games. With two stolen bases in two attempts throughout his career against Archer, you better believe that Davis will be running against Archer if he gets on base.
Matt Kemp is still getting the job done at the plate. He had a huge game last night, going 4-for-6 with two doubles and two RBIs, and gets a great matchup tonight against Ubaldo Jimenez who he has owned throughout his career, batting .316/.409/.605 with two homers, a triple, and three doubles over 38 career at-bats.
Adam Eaton will be a compelling play tonight in a lefty-versus-lefty situation against Eduardo Rodriguez of the Red Sox. Yes, Rodriguez sucks, and yes, Eaton has actually been doing well against lefties this season, going 24-for-67 (.358 AVG) with a triple, five doubles, eight walks, and six RBIs. He has also been respectable against lefties the last few seasons, batting .284/.349/.337 against southpaws since 2013.
Justin Upton is still a crazy good value on FanDuel and Aces even though he was able to extend his hitting streak to 11 games last night against the Mariners. Ride him out until he falters because you rarely get this type of talent on this good of a run at that price.
Jayson Werth remains a pretty good value throughout the industry. While I know Julio Urias remains extremely hyped up, it doesn’t change the fact that he has still given up a 1.64 HR/9 this season.
Shin-Soo Choo was a huge disappointment to over 50 percent of DFS lineups throughout the industry last night. Nonetheless, I like his chances of rebounding against Dan Straily, who he has homered against and has a .694 wOBA against throughout his career.
Hyun-Soo Kim almost hits exclusively against right-handed pitchers, but he has been better at home in Camden Yards this season, batting .387/.424/.435 over 62 at-bats.
Angel Pagan hit a huge grand slam last night to break open the game against the Pirates. Over his last three seasons, he has hit slightly better against southpaws, going .285/.330/.372 with 24 extra base hits over 368 at-bats.
Yasiel Puig made his return to the Dodgers lineup last night, and went 1-for-3 with a single and a run scored. There’s so many flaws with Puig I need an entire article to go through them all, but he’s still a very good value at just $2400 on FanDuel, and happens to be the most accomplished hitter on the roster against Joe Ross, having gone 2-for-3 with a homer, triple, and five RBIs in their previous meetings.
