My top hitters of the day are Buster Posey and Jose Altuve. Posey ranks as my top option but would love to have both of them in the lineup if possible. You can find some decent value plays in the outfield and by spending small at the shortstop position.
The pitchers are ranked in order of preference and value. McHugh has given up 2 runs or less in his last 8 starts which is great given his current price tag.
Good Luck today hit me up in the comments section, on twitter @tedschuster or my e-mail at ted@fantasyalarm.com if you have any questions.

Player News
Tim Tawa is starting at second base and batting eighth for the Diamondbacks on Thursday against the Marlins.
Tawa homered in Wednesday night’s game, so it makes sense that the team keeps him in the lineup. The 26-year-old rookie has gone 4-for-18 in his first six games with one home run and five RBI. He remains off fantasy radars with Ketel Marte (hamstring) nearing a return and Jordan Lawlar inching closer to a call-up.
Matt McLain is not in the starting lineup against the Mariners on Thursday.
McLain was activated off the IL on Tuesday and started both Tuesday and Wednesday, so this is likely just a routine day off with a day game after a night game. The Reds may be cautious with McLain’s hamstring over the next couple of weeks, which could mean a slight uptick in Santiago Espinal’s playing time.
Christian Encarnacion-Strand is not in the starting lineup for the Reds on Thursday against the Mariners.
Encarnacion-Strand started last night and drove in two runs on a double; however, he will now shift to the bench with Jeimer Candelario entering the lineup at first base and batting sixth. Now that Austin Hays is back from the IL, the Reds have shifted Gavin Lux back into the infield, which means Lux, Candelario, and Encarnacion-Strand will likely have to rotate playing time in the immediate future.
Marlins activated 3B Connor Norby from the 10-day injured list.
Norby has been sidelined since early in spring training with an oblique injury and will make his long-awaited return to the Marlins’ lineup. Last year, Norby slashed .238/.300/.439 in 41 games with the Marlins after being traded by the Orioles. He hit eight home runs and stole three bases, but he also struck out 34 percent of the time. Strikeouts had not been much of an issue for Norby before 2024, so perhaps pushing for a job in Baltimore caused him to be far more aggressive, which led to more swing-and-miss. He has enough power and speed that it’s worth adding him in most formats to see if he has an approach change now that he is locked into a starting job.
Tanner Scott struck out three in a scoreless ninth to get a save Wednesday versus the Rockies.
Scott did allow a hit, so it’s up to others to determine whether he struck out the side. Whether he did or not, it’s as good as Scott has looked as a Dodger, and he threw 11-of-11 pitches for strikes; impressive regardless, but especially for a pitcher who sometimes has issues with control. Scott should continue to see plenty of save chances for this loaded Dodgers’ club.
Freddie Freeman doubled and homered in the Dodgers’ win over the Rockies on Monday.
