Running Back
Top Handcuffs
Javorius Allen, BAL- With Danny Woodhead going down the Ravens turned to Allen to pick up the slack behind starter Terrance West. Allen went on to carry the ball 21 times for 71 yards with West carrying the ball 19 times for 80 yard s and a score. Allen is a decent pass catcher and should be the primary receiving back of the duo despite the fact that he did not catch a pass in Week 1.
Thomas Rawls, SEA- Rawls was inactive in Week 1 due to injury but head coach Pete Carroll claims Rawls will be ready to go in Week 2. Eddie Lacy was abysmal in Week 1, carrying the ball five times for three yards which left rookie running back Chris Carson as the lead back. It's expected that Lacy could be inactive in Week 2 which will give Rawls a shot to take over the lead role if he succeeds.
James White, NE- This will likely be a week to week thing with the Patriots as many expected Rex Burkhead to put up the type of numbers that White did in Week 1 against the Chiefs. In Week 1 White carried the ball a carrier high 10 times for 38 yards while adding three catches for 30 yards. If the Patriots plan on giving White 10 carries a game with a handful of receptions he will find himself even more useful in PPR leagues that we originally expected.
Wide Receivers
Top Handcuffs
Cooper Kupp, LAR- While defenses focus on stopping Todd Gurley and shutting down Sammy Watkins it appears that Kupp will be Jared Goff's No.2 receiving option. Kupp had a strong preseason and followed that up by catching four passes for 76 yards and a touchdown. In Week 2 the Redskins head to LA and with the likelihood that Josh Norman covers Sammy Watkins I would expect Kupp to see his fair share of targets once again.
Corey Davis, TEN- Titans used their second round pick to draft Davis and after Week 1 he found himself being targeted a team high 10 times while hauling on six catches for 69 yards. Delanie Walker and Rishard Matthews were still very productive but come seasons end Davis could find himself as a WR1 in this Titans offense.
Nelson Agholor, PHI- Agholor tied for the team lead in targets with eight during Week 1 and finished the game with six catches for 86 yards and a touchdown. He figures to be the No.3 receiver to begin the year but his play out shined that of Torrey Smith and Alshon Jeffery, the latter of whom was held in check by Josh Norman. Jeffery will be the No.1 receiver in this offense with Zach Ertz also garnering plenty of targets but it is possible that Agholor passes Smith on the depth chart.
Tight End
Top Handcuffs
David Njoku, CLE- The Browns used a first round pick on the athletic tight end but he finds himself second on the depth chart after Week 1. In Week 1 Njoku caught two passes for 20 yards but trailed starting tight end Seth DeValve who caught 4-of-5 targets for 42 yards. Njoku could very well be the team's No.1 tight end come seasons end but for now he is just a handcuff worth watching.
