League of Legends DFS Playbook October 10: Top DraftKings LoL DFS Picks
It's the final day of the first Round-Robin in the League of Legends World Championship Group Stage and many storylines have been developing over the last three days. The biggest, and probably the most depressing, as a League Championship Series fan is that all three LCS representatives are winless through the weekend. The scariest part of that fact? The two matches today with LCS teams have them facing a former World Champion and the reigning MSI Champions. We have exciting matches outside of these those two and some big names squaring off as you build League of Legends DFS lineups. The slate starts at 5 pm ET and we're focusing on the eSports DFS top plays for DraftKings LoL contests. So let’s dive in before you lock in those League of Legends daily fantasy lineups!

League of Legends DFS Breakdown
Game #1: JD Gaming (-455) vs. G2 Esports (+295)
Game Breakdown: This feels like a weird game to break down. In both of JDG’s wins, they had periods of looking shaking (even being in a real position to lose against the Evil Geniuses). Though when you zoom out, JDG are significantly better that G2 in almost every way. They have a better mid/jungle combo (Yagao/Kanavi versus Caps/Jankos) and G2’s BrokenBlade won’t be able to gain the individual lane wins against 369 like G2 is used to. I think G2 will find some fights in this match but look for JDG to win key late game fights and put the European 2nd seed away.
Favorite Picks: Hope (JDG: $12,000/$8,000), 369 (JDG: $7,200), Kanavi (JDG: $7,400)
Value Picks: Caps (G2: $6,400), G2 Esports ($4,600)
Cann’s Match Pick: JD Gaming
Game #2: Rogue (+200) vs. TOP Esports (-275)
Game Breakdown: Rogue has looked so consistent in this tournament. They are decisive and work as a team so well. The struggle they will have is possible gaps in individual skill. Larssen (RGE mid) cannot get rolled in the middle lane by TES’ Knight. If he does, the wheels will fall off quickly, especially with how much pressure I expect Tian to be putting around the map. RGE could capitalize on the aggression of JackeyLove in the bottom lane and find late game advantages there, but they will need to be tracking where Knight and Tian are at all times to be sure the ganks by Malrang pay off.
Favorite Picks: Wayward (TES: $6,800), Tian (TES: $7,000), TOP Esports ($5,200)
Value Picks: Larssen (RGE: $6,600), Comp (RGE: $6,800)
Cann’s Match Pick: TOP Esports
Game #3: Damwon Gaming (-800) vs. Evil Geniuses (+440)
Game Breakdown: I was shocked at how close the price points were here. Damwon have looked really good thus far and while Evil Geniuses took JDG to the limit, they were absolutely worked over by G2. ShowMaker could make some serious gains on the younger jojopyun, which has always been one of EG’s win conditions. I think the Vulcan/Kaori bottom lane has been much better than expected and could be an avenue for EG to win this tough matchup, I am not hopeful though.
Favorite Picks: ShowMaker (DK: $10,500/$7,000), Canyon (DK: $6,600)
Value Picks: Impact (EG: $5,800), Inspired (EG: $6,200), Kaori (EG: $6,400)
Cann’s Match Pick: Damwon Gaming
Game #4: 100 Thieves (+420) vs. Royal Never Give Up (-650)
Game Breakdown: This will be a massacre. The second seed out of the LCS has looked the weakest out of the three teams and have lacked almost any spark whatsoever. Royal Never Give Up has been methodical in their dismemberment of the rest of the group. Watch out for HUGE numbers out of Gala here, the 100 Thieves bottom lane has proven time and time again that they are not at an international level. Their support (huhi) has been exposed consistently throughout the first two games and Gala/Ming will put on a clinic in the 2v2.
Favorite Picks: Gala (RNG: $11,700/$7,800), Xiaohu (RNG: $7,600), Ming (RNG: $6,200), Royal Never Give Up ($5,800)
Value Picks: Ssumday (100: $5,200)
Cann’s Match Pick: Royal Never Give Up
Game #5: Gen.G (-3300) vs. CTBC Flying Oysters (+1000)
Game Breakdown: Gen.G has been looking to reestablish themselves after the tough loss to RNG in the opener. They were clinical against 100 Thieves this weekend and I think they plan on choking out the Oysters here. Chovy will roll Missing here and his individual skill should be enough to run away with the game. CFO’s jungler (Gemini) has been aggressive, which I like, but won’t have winning lanes on Monday which will make his aggression look like intentionally dying. Big Game for Gen.G here.
Favorite Picks: Ruler (GEN: $12,300/$8,200), Chovy (GEN: $12,000/$8,000), Lehends (GEN: $6,600)
Value Picks: Gemini (CFO: $5,000)
Cann’s Match Pick: Gen.G
Game #6: GAM Esports (+280) vs. DRX (-385)
Game Breakdown: Much like the GEN v CFO matchup before them, DRX should have all of the skill advantages to play a standard game here. I would love a Zeka pop-off performance to show how good this DRX team is but it won’t be necessary. Kingen will be a player to watch as he has slowly crept up my top laner power rankings throughout this tournament. The Deft story of this being his final year playing is also a storyline that has been beautiful to watch as fans and casters alike have been rooting for him since the Play-Ins in Mexico.
Favorite Picks: Zeka (DRX: $10,800/$7,200), Kingen (DRX: $6,600), Deft (DRX: $7,200)
Value Picks: Levi (GAM: $5,800), GAM Esports ($4,400)
Cann’s Match Pick: DRX
