Brenton Doyle (quad) experienced renewed quad soreness on Monday while running sprints.
Doyle told reporters that Tuesday will be the deciding factor for whether he’ll require a trip to the injured list after missing four straight games with left quad soreness. It’s a developing situation that fantasy managers should closely monitor.
Endy Rodríguez was removed from Monday’s game against the Nationals with a right index finger laceration.
Rodríguez will continue receiving treatment after being stuck by a deflection on the right hand during the opening frame of Monday’s showdown. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now.
Marlins sent RHP Xzavion Curry outright to Triple-A Jacksonville.
Curry passed through waivers unclaimed after being designated for assignment last week. The 26-year-old righty has made three relief appearances this season for Miami and figures to stick around as extra organizational depth.
Athletics sent LHP Angel Perdomo outright to Triple-A Las Vegas.
Perdomo went unclaimed on waivers after being designated for assignment over the weekend by the Athletics. The 30-year-old lefty posted a lackluster 5.40 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 2/3 K/BB ratio across 3 1/3 innings (four appearances).
Lucas Giolito (hamstring) will make another minor league rehab start on Tuesday for Double-A Portland.
It sounds like Giolito is going to need at least one additional start following Tuesday’s upcoming outing based on Red Sox manager Alex Cora’s remarks. The 30-year-old righty is making his way back from a hamstring strain and should join Boston’s rotation by the end of April.
Seiya Suzuki (wrist) remains out of the lineup for Monday’s series opener against the Padres.
Suzuki will miss his second straight game as he continues to battle an ongoing right wrist issue. There’s been zero indication he’ll require a trip to the injured list after re-aggravating the issue during Saturday’s showdown against the Dodgers. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day. It’ll be Justin Turner filling in at DH on Monday night in San Diego.
