College Football PrizePicks CFB Top Picks Week 6 Saturday
Jaxson Dart (Ole Miss) – OVER 245.5 Pass+Rush Yards
Dart gets a favorable matchup this week against Vanderbilt and one of the worst pass defenses in the country. The Commodores are allowing 299.2 passing yards per game (127th in FBS) and have allowed big stat lines to Bryce Young, Sam Hartman, and even Elon QB Matthew McKay. Though the Ole Miss offense is centered around the run game, this matchup is way too good and Dart can take advantage. As for the rushing side of things, Dart has run for at least 40 yards in four of five games this season. He’s also gone over this 245.5 combined passing+rushing yards line in each of the last three games since being named the starting QB for the Rebels. Plus, Vandy might actually keep this game closer than you may expect as the spread has dropped in recent days. That would lead to Dart doing more both through the air and on the ground than if it was a blowout.
Rara Thomas (Mississippi State) – OVER 62.5 Receiving Yards
Let’s all say some prayers for Arkansas this week. The Razorbacks have one of the worst pass defenses in the country, allowing 289.4 yards per game through the air (124th in FBS). This defense just got lit up by Alabama and now has to go on the road to face the pass-happy Air Raid offense of Mississippi State. Not ideal! Enter Rara Thomas, who has a team-high 359 receiving yards through five games. He's gone over 62.5 receiving yards in four of five games this season and the lone under came in a blowout win over Bowling Green. The Arkansas secondary will have trouble covering the Mississippi State pass-catchers in this big mismatch. Bank on Thomas going over.
Chris Rodriguez (Kentucky) – OVER 96.5 Rushing Yards
Rodriguez returned from suspension last week and immediately saw 19 carries while stepping right back into the lead RB role for Kentucky. Though he only gained 72 yards last game, it was in a tougher matchup against Ole Miss. Now he gets to face a South Carolina defense that's been gashed on the ground this season. The Gamecocks are allowing 185 rushing yards per game (106th in FBS) and 4.44 ypc (98th). In its two conference games thus far, the defense gave up 156 rushing yards to Arkansas RB Raheim Sanders and then 208 total rush yards to Georgia. Rodriguez is a guy who racked up 1,379 rushing yards last year as one of the best running backs in the country. He went over 96.5 rushing yards in 10 of 13 games last season and had 144 in the 2021 matchup vs. South Carolina. Plus, Kentucky QB Will Levis is questionable to play this week and that may lead to a ton of carries for Rodriguez as the offense leans on the run.
Eric Gray (Oklahoma) – UNDER 90.5 Rushing Yards
First off, let's just admit that Eric Gray has the talent to go well over this rushing yards prop. He already has three 100-yard games in five weeks this season, for what it's worth. However, this line is a bit too high for a couple of reasons. Gray got banged up last week and gave way to backup RB Jovantae Barnes, who ran for 100 yards on 18 carries. While Gray is expected to play despite last week's injury, we may see Barnes get more playing time and carries again. Plus, Oklahoma may find itself trailing more often than not this week as underdogs against Texas – which would lead to more passing plays overall than rush attempts for Gray or any other Sooners RB. Finally, Gray gets a tough matchup here against a Texas defense that's allowing just 3.28 yards per carry (33rd in FBS).
Connor Bazelak (Indiana) – UNDER -8.5 Rushing Yards
We've been having success with targeting under's on negative rushing yards for quarterbacks this season – so let's keep it going! As a reminder, sacks in college football count as negative rushing yards for QBs. With that in mind, look for Michigan's defense to sack Indiana QB Connor Bazelak enough for him to finish with less than -8.5 rush yard this week. Bazelak has been sacked at least three times in three straight games and finished with -41 and -19 rush yards in the past two (while being sacked eight total times). Michigan, meanwhile, sacked Iowa QB Spencer Petras four times last week to give him -31 rush yards. The Wolverines also had three sacks against Maryland the game prior. With Michigan being 22-point favorites in this game, we should see Bazelak drop back to pass plenty with more chances at being sacked – much like Petras a week ago.

Player News
Dolphins signed No. 13 overall pick DT Kenneth Grant to a four-year contract.
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports that Grant will sign his contract today. The former Michigan defensive tackle is expected to fill a major void left by Christian Wilkins, who left for the Raiders in the 2024 offseason. Grant totaled 32 tackles, three sacks, and seven TFLs in his final season at Michigan and excelled at stopping the run while also generating 27 pressures in his final season, per PFF.
Daulton Varsho picked up three hits, three RBI and a homer in a win over the Angels on Thursday.
Varsho has only played in seven games this year, but they’ve been seven good ones. He’s homered three times already, and his slugging percentage is a remarkable — and entirely unsustainable — .727 over 22 at-bats. Varsho has been a mediocre offensive player in his two seasons with the Blue Jays, but it’s possible at the age of 28 he’s having a breakout campaign. Far from a guarantee, but possible.
Taylor Ward hit a two-run homer in a loss to the Blue Jays on Thursday.
Ward, 31, gave the Angels a 2-0 lead with a two-run homer off Chris Bassitt in the first inning. He’s now gone deep in two of his last three games, and it ‘improves’ his slash to .181/.224/.391. Ward has been one of the most hot/cold players players in the sport over the last few years, so fantasy managers who can afford to make some roster moves may want to look at Ward while the going is good.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. picked up three hits and scored twice in an 8-5 win over the Angels on Thursday.
Guerrero also drew a walk. It gives the first baseman multiple hits in back-to-back games, and it’s the third time in May that he’s reached that mark. That’s helped raise his average from .268 to .295, and the only thing fantasy managers can be disappointed with is his .432 slugging percentage. That number should continue to climb as the season unfolds, but Vladdy Jr. has had some inconsistent seasons when it comes to power production.
Chad Green picked up his first save of 2025 with a scoreless ninth against the Angels on Thursday.
Green got the save after Jeff Hoffman worked in back-to-back games — and struggled — in the first two contests against the Angels. He struck out two and looked the part while needing just nine pitches to get through the inning. Hoffman should remain the closer, but Green is on his tail if the struggles were to continue.
Chris Bassitt allowed five runs — four earned — while working six-plus innings against the Angels on Thursday while picking up a win.
Bassitt allowed three runs over the first two innings on a pair of homers, but settled down over his next four frames. He came out to work the seventh, but ended up being charged for two more runs after leaving the contest. The 36-year-old veteran has forged a 3.35 ERA and outstanding 49/8 K/BB ratio over the first quarter of the season, but this wasn’t him at his best. He’ll get the Rays next week if the rotation order stays the same for Toronto.
