CFB Best Bets For Week 12: Expert Picks, Predictions & Player Props
The first edition of MACtion this season certainly didn’t disappoint last week. The fun rolls into Week 12 CFB best bets now and, just like a week ago, Friday’s non-MAC matchups set us up nicely to head into the weekend.
While we’re here, we might as well touch on the Saturday games, too. It was filled with competitive matchups; BYU survived a scare against Utah, Michigan almost took down Indiana, Georgia got rolled by Ole Miss and Miami finally earned their first loss of the season via Georgia Tech.
College football is great because of its parity. The 12-team playoff will only add to that, and we’re starting to see some of that effect already!
CFB Picks, Predictions & Best Bets: 11/12-11/15
In terms of CFB best bets, my confidence is absolutely shattered at this point. It feels like nothing can break my way, and after watching Travis Hunter end with 99 yards after betting him to have 100+, it’s hard to get out of that headspace right now.
This has been my worst season of CFB picks since I started doing this. Last week was literally the worst weekend of betting I have ever had. If you stopped tailing me beforehand, it’s hard to blame you, and if you still were, I truly am sorry.
I really thought after Week 4, we were in store for a big season of CFB best bets, but now, it’s just about getting back to even. Wishful thinking that we can do that before the CFP? If there’s one thing that I do know, it’s that you can't knock me for not being transparent, at least.
I’m switching up my research methods as well, so I’m interested to see if that makes a difference at all. Here’s to hoping next week’s CFB predictions column won’t be quite as somber.

Central Michigan vs. Toledo Prediction: Tuesday, November 12th
We bet on the under in our CFB best bets for CMU’s game last week and won, but I’m in the belief that the opposite is bound to happen in Week 12. It was wet and slightly windy in that game, and the weather calls for clear skies here.
So, with that not playing a factor, look for the Chippewas to continue to lean on their ground game, which they’ve found success with (40th in NCAA). The Rockets defense has been susceptible to big plays recently too, allowing 41 and then 28 points in their last 2 matchups.
But what we’re really looking at in this one is Toledo’s offense. They average over 29 points per game and have the nation’s 34th best passing attack. Against a CMU defense that allows 31.2 points per outing, they could be in store for a big day.
We just need the Chippewas to hold up their end of the bargain, which they should be able to do. The over is a combined 13-5 for these two schools this season – look for that to move to 15-5 when this is all said and done.
- Expert Central Michigan vs. Toledo Prediction: Over 50.5 (-110 at BetMGM)
Houston vs. Arizona Prediction: Friday, November 15th
The Cougars have rattled off back-to-back wins, while the Wildcats have now lost 5 in a row. However, this is a good spot for Arizona to get back on the right track, which is what this portion of CFB predictions is based on. Much of their recent demise has been due to their atrocious play on defense.
But even though Houston has played better recently, it’s not because of their offense. They’ve scored more than 17 just once in their past 3 games and rank outside the top 125 teams in total yards and points scored per game. A perfect get-right spot for the Wildcats defensive unit.
On offense, ‘Zona WR Tetairoa McMillan will be the best player on the field in this game whenever he is indeed on it. While he and QB Noah Fifita haven’t always been on the same page this season, they have the chance to put it away quickly on their own when they’re in sync.
And that’s what I believe this one will come down to: a low-scoring battle in which the Wildcats just make a few more of those key plays needed than the Cougars.
