Fowler stayed behind to be with his wife and their new baby. He also didn't play on Tuesday against San Jose. Fowler will finish the 2021-22 season with nine goals, 42 points, 124 shots and 116 blocks in 76 matches. 

Fowler has 41 points this season, a new career high after Sunday's performance, beating his rookie season of 2010-11 when he had 40. Don't expect the same next season as he is 30 and this was likely an anomaly.

Fowler has six goals and 31 points in 54 games this season as he leads all Anaheim defensemen in points. He will eventually lose that distinction in the next couple of seasons to Jamie Drysdale who already sees the majority of time on the first power play.

Fowler was the only multi-point player for the Ducks in this matchup. He started his night off by notching an assist on a goal scored by Nicolas Deslauriers 2:23 into the second. Later in the third, Fowler secured the primary helper on Anaheim's last goal of the game. This was a power play goal scored by Troy Terry. Fowler now has 23 assists and 29 points in 53 games played.
