Brendan Gaunce
Player News
Brendan Gaunce has inked a two-year, two-way contract with the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Gaunce had five goals and seven points in 30 games with the Blue Jackets in 2021-22. He also contributed 16 goals and 28 points in 39 contests with AHL Cleveland. "Brendan is a competitive forward with good size who can play both the center and wing," said Blue Jackets GM Jarmo Kekalainen. "He played well last season and brings versatility and depth to our forward group."
Brendan Gaunce potted his fourth of the season in the Blue Jackets 4-3 overtime loss to Winnipeg.
Gaunce has six points in 15 games this season. He has no real fantasy value.
Brendan Gaunce will not play during Thursday's game against the Washington Capitals.
Gaunce will watch this game from the press box, as he sits as a healthy scratch. Joining him there is Gavin Bayreuther.
Brendan Gaunce and Trey Fix-Wolansky will draw into the Columbus lineup Sunday.
The duo will take the place of Boone Jenner and Jakub Voracek who are both injured. Patrik Laine is a question mark and if he is unable to go, the Blue Jackets will either recall a forward or go with 11 forwards and seven defensemen.
