2024 Player Outlook

 Javon Baker faced stiff competition at Alabama early in his college career with the likes of Devonta Smith, Jameson Williams, and John Metchie. So he decided to transfer to Central Florida where he put up impressive numbers, especially in his senior season where he averaged an insane 21.9 yards per catch. He doesn't bring tremendous size or speed but what is evident on the tape is his impressive awareness and body control, contorting to make contested catches and keep his feet in bounds. The Patriots are depleted at wide receiver so they took two stabs in this draft with Ja'Lynn Polk in the second and Javon Baker in the fourth. We'll keep an eye on this depth chart and pecking order in training camp to get an idea of who Drake Maye might lean on.
