Romeo Doubs caught 3-of-5 targets for 28 yards and a touchdown in the Packers’ Week 2 win over the Commanders.
Romeo Doubs caught 2-of-4 targets for 68 yards in the Packers’ Week 1 win over the Lions.
Per usual, Doubs was the Packers’ most trusted receiver, leading the team in routes. He ran a route on 18-of-24 Jordan Love dropbacks. He also finished second on the team in targets behind only Jayden Reed. Doubs isn’t the flashiest fantasy option, but his role is secure and he plays on an offense that won’t have any issues putting up points. He will stick in the WR4/5 range for Week 2 against Washington.
Packers head coach Matt LaFleur addressed trade rumors regarding Romeo Doubs by saying, “that will not happen.”
LaFleur then explained why the organization is not open to trading Doubs, saying, “Rome is out there competing” and has done “everything that we need to see from him.” The team suspended Doubs for one game last year, after the veteran receiver complained about his target rate. It sounds like the two sides are in a good spot. Doubs is set to continue operating as a Packers starter and profiles as a matchup-based flex option.
Romeo Doubs (back) left Tuesday’s practice with trainers.
He got medical attention after coming up with a deep ball, was crouched over for a few minutes, then walked off “holding” his lower back. It’s hard to speculate on what kind of injury may have happened here based on this information, but the Packers can ill-afford to lose Doubs as they’ve already been practicing without Dontayvion Wicks and Jayden Reed. It’s all coming up Matthew Golden right now for fantasy purposes. Doubs told reporters after practice that he was okay, but we wouldn’t be surprised if he was handled gently over the next few days.
