2024 Player Outlook
Expect the unexpected. Singletary found himself in Houston for the 2023 season after another solid year with the Buffalo Bills but many were unsure of what to expect from Singletary with running back Dameon Pierce in Houston and coming off of a really good rookie season. What ended up happening? Well, Pierce took a massive step backward and opened the door wide open for Singletary to take control and take control he did as he rushed for a career best 898 yards and four touchdowns while adding 30 receptions for 193 yards on top of it. Singletary parlayed his 2023 output into a new contract to be the lead running back for the New York Giants where he reunites with Brian Daboll who coached the Bills offense when Singletary was there. Now, the Giants offense has a lot of questions, mostly pertaining to the QB where Daniel Jones is looking to fend off the likes of Drew Lock for the starting role and that right there should tell you all you need to know about the state of the QB position in New York. So, that said, Singletary will be the lead back and he does have the ability to catch the football out of the backfield as well. I'd say at best he ends up a low-end RB2 and a high-end RB3 that should be startable as a flex in most leagues. Of course, if the Giants offense somehow clicks, the upside could be greater.
