Dallas Goedert was the highest scoring tight end that finished with the third most targets on his team and that was good for TE13 in PPR. Goedert does get a good number of manufactured tight end screens in Nick Sirianni's offense but he's never been much of a red zone threat despite his size. If Dallas Goedert were a running back we would call him a "double handcuff plus". He has some standalone value but he only unlocks his true upside with an injury to either AJ Brown or DeVonta Smith.

Eagles GM Howie Roseman said Dallas Goedert is “part of the team as we speak.”
It’s not exactly a vote of confidence in the contract-year tight end. Goedert has been the subject of trade rumors throughout the offseason and the team has seemingly been hearing out offers for a while. Still, nothing has come of them yet and the Eagles did not add a tight end at any point during the draft. If Roseman thought Goedert would be gone come Week 1, he would likely have come up with a contingency plan at some point. For now, fantasy managers can pencil in Goedert as the team’s starter and a low-end TE1, but the situation could change at any moment.

Goedert has become a popular trade candidate in the rumor mill. He is on the final year of his current contract and is undoubtedly looking for a new deal. The Eagles, on the other hand, haven’t made much noise about extending him and have generally tried to get out ahead of new contracts in recent years. The timing of this report suggests the Eagles are still trying to field offers for Goedert and the price may be dropping.
Eagles general manager Howie Roseman said uncertainty around TE Dallas Goedert “doesn’t affect” the teams’ draft.
Goedert has been rumored to be headed out of Philadelphia this offseason. A trade before the 2025 season starts is possible, but Roseman made it clear that their dealings with Goedert would not impact the draft. He said, “the way we look at the draft is it’s a separate entity to anything else that’s going on.” The Eagles have been one of the better drafting teams under Roseman and the philosophy of best player available seems to be holding true. It is unlikely Goedert will be dealt during the draft and the Eagles will only add a tight end if the draft capital makes sense.
Eagles coach Nick Sirianni said “right now, he’s on our team” when asked if he wanted Dallas Goedert back.
A ringing endorsement. “And obviously, Dallas Goedert has meant a lot to us. We’ll see how that plays out. He’s a heck of a football player, heck of a leader. Want to be able to have back as many guys as you possibly can, but that’s not the reality of the NFL,” Sirianni continued. There have been rumors of a Goedert trade all offseason and it wouldn’t be surprising — despite the fact that it would cost the Eagles cap space if it happened before June — if it happened soon.
