Commanders WR Noah Brown (groin/knee) will not play in Week 3’s game against the Raiders.

Brown and John Bates (groin) were both ruled out without a practice session this week. No stranger to an IR stint, it would not be surprising if that was in Brown’s future this weekend. Rookie fourth-rounder Jaylin Lane quietly assumed 36 snaps in Week 2 and would be the deeper-league option in Brown’s absence.

Tight end John Bates was also held out of practice. Per Dan Quinn, neither player is expected to suit up this week. The absence of Brown could free up a few more routes for rookie wideout Jaylin Lane. Even in an increased role, Lane isn’t on the redraft radar for now.

Commanders HC Dan Quinn said Noah Brown (groin) is “a long shot” to play in Week 3 against the Raiders.

Quinn said the same of tight end John Bates, who is also dealing with a groin injury. Brown has three catches for 38 yards on seven targets this season and was already well off the fantasy radar. Assuming he’s unable to play in Week 3, the Commanders would likely feature veteran Chris Moore in his spot, who is listed behind him on the depth chart.

Commanders WR Noah Brown (knee) was removed from the injury report and will play in Week 2 against the Packers.

Brown played through the knee issue last week, running as the Commanders’ WR3 versus the Giants. He was limited in his first two practices this week and was technically listed as a DNP on Wednesday. That, however, was a rest day for the veteran wideout. He is in play as a contrarian DFS option for Thursday’s game but is not on the redraft radar.
