2024 Player Outlook
Derrick Henry wrapped up a tremendous Titans career with yet another 1,000+ yard, double digit TD season. His efficiency in terms of per carry numbers has come down in recent years from his peak but we might see a resurgence there after landing with the RB friendly Baltimore Ravens this offseason. Defenses are going to have a difficult time dealing with the Lamar Jackson/Derrick Henry RPO as well as Henry following bruising fullback Patrick Ricard through the hole. Henry has never been much of a pass-catcher nor has Lamar Jackson really been one to dump down to the running backs so I wouldn't expect gaudy reception numbers, however.

Ravens HC John Harbaugh said he would like to see the team extend Derrick Henry’s contract.
Henry, 31, continued to play like one of the top running backs in the league in his first season with the Ravens. He fell just shy of the second 2,000-yard season of his career but averaged a career-best 5.9 YPC while also leading the league with 16 rushing touchdowns. Henry only has one year left on his current deal, and he’s bound to slow down at some point. But he’ll again be expected to shoulder the load in Baltimore’s backfield next season and could be worth keeping under contract after the 2025 season if he continues to play at a high level.
Derrick Henry said “I want to finish my career in Baltimore” when asked about his future with the team.
This comes from an article by The Athletic’s Dianna Russini, who spoke with Henry at the NFL Honors award ceremony. Henry, who is already under contract through the 2025 season, is fresh off running for the second-most yards in his career (1,921) and leading the league with 16 rushing touchdowns. Henry will be 31 at the start of next season and is already past the typical age cliff for running backs. With that said, he’s spent the last few seasons dishing out his signature stiff arms to Father Time and averaged a career-high 5.9 YPC last season, which is one of the benefits that tends to come when playing with Lamar Jackson, who consistently keeps opposing defenses on their toes. Russini says in her article that she would expect the Ravens to explore a contract extension with Henry this off-season. How much they’d be willing to give him and for how long is anybody’s guess, but there could be a way to give Henry a longer deal while ensuring it’s team-friendly enough to provide a way out should his performance drop off.
Derrick Henry rushed 16 times for 84 yards and one touchdown and caught 0-of-2 targets in the Ravens’ AFC Divisional Round loss to the Bills.
The 31-year-old Henry rushed 325 times for 1,921 yards and 16 touchdowns, producing regular season career-bests in yards per carry (5.9) and missed tackles forced (80). Henry also caught 19-of-21 targets for 193 yards and two touchdowns. He finished as the overall RB4 in PPR scoring, totaling 336.4 points. Henry’s age would be a red flag for most running backs but given his astonishing successes in his first season playing alongside Lamar Jackson, fantasy managers should once again treat Henry as a high-end RB1 on draft day.
Derrick Henry rushed 26 times for 186 yards and two touchdowns in the Ravens’ Wild Card Round win over the Steelers.
The Ravens got up to an early lead over Pittsburgh, putting Henry in prime position to pummel the Steelers into submission in the second half. The bruising back obliged with a 44-yard score in the third quarter to go along with a shorter touchdown from the first half. Henry enters the Divisional Round on a streak of four games with at least 160 yards from scrimmage. If the Bills take care of business versus Denver, Henry and the Ravens will travel to Buffalo next week for a chance to play in the AFC Championship.
