Doug Free
Player News
Doug Free was limited at practice on Wednesday with a quad injury.
Limited is better than no practice at all, however it does mean that he is a question mark heading into Week 3. Free has been big part of the best offensive line in football over the past couple of seasons and not having him out there on Sunday could mean a less effective Cowboys offense in terms of running the ball and Dak Prescott having less time to get the ball out. Thursday's practice will be big for him as if he can go fully then he should be a go for the game.
Doug Free told reporters that he is feeling good after having foot surgery this offseason.
Free is slated to be the Cowboy's starting right tackle as they head into 2016 after starting every game he's play for Dallas since the 2010 season.
Doug Free (foot/ankle) did not participate in walkthrough on Saturday.
Free underwent ankle surgery this offseason. He is still working on coming back but did sign a three-year contract with Dallas this offseason, and is expected to contribute to the top offensive line in football once he has recovered.
Doug Free (foot/ankle) will not participate in his third consecutive practice on Sunday.
We're still almost a month away from the regular season, so there's not much reason to be concerned when veterans miss practice. The fact that Free has missed several days in a row is maybe a bit more of a red flag, but wait a few weeks before getting too concerned.
