The Jaguars claimed Brown off waivers from the Raiders on Wednesday.
Brown will add depth to the Jaguars injury-riddled linebacker corps going forward, and he'll have a shot at a starting role right off the bat. The sixth-year linebacker could come in handy Sunday against the Raiders, as Brown should have a good grasp on their system after spending the last four weeks with them.
The Raiders waived Brown on Tuesday.
Brown spent less than a month with the Raiders, suiting up in one game and playing 17 defensive snaps. The 27-year-old linebacker didn't seem to be a good fit, but it wouldn't be surprising if another team took a flier on the sixth-year pro.
The Raiders signed Brown to the 53-man roster Monday, Scott Bair of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Brown cleared waivers after the Bengals cut him last Tuesday, and he'll push for the starting middle linebacker role in Oakland. The Raiders haven't found a full-time replacement at the position since Vontaze Burfict was suspended for the rest of the year. Brown -- a third-round pick in the 2014 draft -- should fit the scheme after playing in a 4-3 system with Cincinnati. The 27-year-old posted 54 tackles through nine games with the Bengals.
The Bengals waived Brown on Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
The Bengals inked Brown to a three-year, $16.5 million deal with $4.48 million guaranteed in March, making him the team's most expensive linebacker. The 27-year-old has 54 tackles (27 solo) and a forced fumble through the first nine winless games, and coach Zac Taylor decided it was time for a change.
