Bengals activate RB Cedric Peerman to the active roster.
With Giovani Bernard heading to the IR, the Bengals were looking to add another RB to the roster. Peerman was the player the team opted to activate off of the IR, instead of first round pick CB William Jackson III.
Head Coach Marvin Lewis said they'll decide Saturday on activating Cedric Peerman.
Peerman could be activated off IR on Saturday, but it's not official yet. Peerman is primarily a special teams player, but with Gio Bernard going down for the season he could provide extra depth at RB for Cincinnati. Peerman would be 3rd in line for touches behind Jeremy Hill and Rex Burkhead, but Cincinnati could add another RB to the roster and just keep Peerman on special teams.
Bengals designate Cedric Peerman to return from injured reserve.
With Gio Bernard out for the year, Jeremy Hill and Rex Burkhead were the only two healthy running backs on the roster. Peerman was a Pro Bowler on Special Teams last year before he broke his arm in the preseason. The team will have three weeks to activate him but expect him to play earlier.
Cedric Peerman left Sunday's preseason game against the Jaguars with an air cast on his left arm.
Peerman left Sunday's preseason game with a fractured left forearm and will likely be be put on the IR to return. He wasn't going to get many touches with Jeremy Hill and Giovani Bernard in front of him, but this is still an unfortunate injury.
