Rangers optioned INF Ezequiel Duran to Triple-A Round Rock.
Duran heads to the minors with star outfielder Wyatt Langford returning from the injured list for Sunday’s showdown against the Dodgers. It’s notable that rookie outfielder Dustin Harris wasn’t the corresponding move here as it appears the Rangers want to get a longer look at him in the big leagues.
Rangers recalled INF Ezequiel Duran from Triple-A Round Rock.
Duran was off the roster for just one day. His recall has much to do with the Rangers placing Wyatt Langford (oblique) on the injured list, and he could see starts with Langford on the shelf. Fantasy managers shouldn’t give him ‘starts’ in their fantasy lineup, however.

The Rangers are keeping Jonathan Ornelas over Duran, perhaps in part because Corey Seager has been a little banged up. Also, Duran was 0-for-11 to start the year. He’s showed some offensive potential in the past, but the Rangers soured on him some last year, and he could be a change-of-scenery candidate.
Rangers activated INF/OF Ezequiel Duran off the paternity list.
Duran added to his family, and now will have a chance to add some hits to his final stats over the final three games against the Angels.
