Alejandro Kirk went 3-for-4 and drove in a pair of runs on Friday night, helping to lead the Blue Jays to victory over the visiting Guardians.
Kirk delivered a two-run single off of Logan Allen in the third inning that gave the Jays their first lead of the game at 2-1. He added another pair of singles in the contest as well. With the three-hit effort, the 26-year-old backstop is now hitting .260/.287/.354 on the young season with a pair of homers and 12 RBI.
Alejandro Kirk delivered a two-run double in the top of the ninth to help the Blue Jays defeat the Yankees 4-2 on Friday.
Kirk’s double off Devin Williams gave the Jays a 3-2 lead in the ninth, and the pinch-runner employed in his place came around as an insurance run. The double was just Kirk’s fourth extra-base hit of the year, and it was responsible for his seventh and eighth runs batted in. He’s struggled to a .227/.263/.307 line in 80 plate appearances.
Alejandro Kirk went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in a win over the Orioles on Sunday.
The longball was Kirk’s first of the season, but the 26-year-old has gotten off to a solid start with a .261/.286/.370 slash line. He won’t hit for a ton of power or walk much, but he should post a solid batting average in a good lineup, which keeps him on the radar in deeper formats.
Alejandro Kirk went 2-for-4 in a loss to the Mets on Sunday.
Kirk didn’t catch this game, but the Blue Jays still wanted his bat in the lineup, starting him at designated hitter. While we don’t expect that to be a usual occurrence, it’s a good sign that the team trusts his bat right now. Kirk is slashing .258/.250/.290 in the early going, so he’s not giving you much power, but he should be a good source of batting average and counting stats at the catcher spot.
