Dylan Lee started and pitched two scoreless innings as the Braves and Blue Jays played to a 1-1 tie Saturday.
Lee hasn’t gotten much work in close games through the years, but he has a 2.58 ERA in 136 innings for the Braves since debuting in 2021. He should be in line for a more significant bullpen role now with A.J. Minter gone and Joe Jiménez hurt. However, he does have options remaining if the Braves ever want to stash him in Triple-A again. It happened twice last year.
Braves and LHP Dylan Lee avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $1.025 million contract.
The 30-year-old southpaw did a phenomenal job out of the Braves’ bullpen in 2024, registering a minuscule 2.11 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and a 76/17 K/BB ratio across 59 2/3 innings of work. He’ll be one of many options that Braves’ manager Brian Snitker has at his disposal in the middle innings in 2025.
Braves recalled LHP Dylan Lee from Triple-A Gwinnett
With A.J. Minter (hip) headed to the IL, the Braves will return to Dylan Lee, who was with the team up until being optioned just a week ago. Lee has a tremendous 2.00 ERA and 1.16 WHIP in 45 innings, so the team won’t see much of a drop-off.
Braves optioned RHP Dylan Lee to Triple-A Gwinnett.
Lee is off the active roster with Max Fried (forearm) off the injured list to start Sunday’s game against the Marlins. Lee will likely get a chance before the season ends in a low-leverage role.
