2025 Player Outlook
Larnach swatted 15 home runs with a .259 average and .772 OPS in 112 games last season, and his xSLG and average exit velocity were in the 80th and 90th percentile respectively. He only had 23 plate appearances against lefties last season, so it won't be much of a surprise when he will sit against southpaws again in 2025. He'll be a platoon guy, but he'll be on the larger side of it, and likely hit right in the heart of the order against right-handed pitching. He makes a lot of hard contact, and he posted career bests in zone contact rate and whiff rate last season. There's 20+ homer potential with Larnach, but to do that, he simply cannot replicate last year's 26.9 percent fly ball rate (36+ percent in '22 and '23). Again, he's a platoon player, but he has enough pop and excellence against RHP to project 18-22 home runs in 2025.

Trevor Larnach went 1-for-2 with a homer, two RBI, two walks and a pair of runs scored as the Twins fell to the Yankees in a slugfest on Tuesday night.
Larnach worked a walk in the opening inning and scored the Twins’ first run on an RBI single by Royce Lewis. He also drew a walk in the fifth inning and swiped second base. Larnach then smacked a sacrifice fly in the sixth inning that pulled the Twins to within two runs at 10-8. He then tagged David Bednar for a 426-foot (110.5 mph EV) solo shot in the ninth that made it a 10-9 ballgame. Unfortunately for the Twins, that’s as close as they would get. For the season, the 28-year-old slugger is now slashing .254/.328/.411 with 17 homers, 60 RBI and four stolen bases on the season.
Trevor Larnach went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI in a losing effort against the White Sox on Tuesday evening.
Larnach smacked an RBI single off of Davis Martin in the home half of the first inning, giving the Twins an early 1-0 lead. He also added a two-out double in the seventh inning, but the Twins were unable to cash him in. For the season, the 28-year-old slugger is now hitting .254/.327/.414 with 16 homers, 55 RBI and two stolen bases in 491 plate appearances.
After sitting Sunday against a right-hander, Trevor Larnach is back in the lineup against a left-hander on Monday.
That wouldn’t seem to make muse sense. However, while the Twins are facing a left-handed opener in Fraser Ellard today, they’ve mostly set the lineup as if they were facing a righty. The one caveat there is that Kody Clemens is on the bench. Also, Larnach is batting fifth, rather than his usual second.
Trevor Larnach (side) is back in the lineup for Sunday’s series finale against the Royals.
Larnach returns to Minnesota’ new-look lineup following a three-game absence due to left side soreness. The 28-year-old corner outfielder, who has matched a career-high with 15 homers through 105 games, is back in right field and batting sixth in this one.
