Andrés Muñoz pitched a clean inning to earn the save over the Reds on Wednesday.
Muñoz has been electric to start the season. This save was his seventh, which trails only Robert Suarez for most in the league, and he’s yet to allow an earned run. His stuff remains top notch and there are few closers that are more trustworthy at this moment than Muñoz is.
Andres Muñoz slammed the door on the Rangers on Sunday afternoon, protecting a two-run lead to earn his sixth save of the season.
The lock-down right-hander came on with a two-run lead to protect in the ninth inning. He made things a bit interesting by allowing a one-out single to Josh Smith that brought the tying run to the plate, but Muñoz rallied to strike out Adolis Garcia and Josh Jung in succession to end the ballgame. He has been a weapon in the ninth inning this season, firing eight scoreless innings with a 12/4 K/BB ratio while converting each of his first six save chances.
Andres Muñoz picked up a save in a scoreless ninth against the Rangers on Friday.
Andres Muñoz didn’t allow a hit in a scoreless ninth to get a save Monday against the Astros.
Muñoz is now already up to four saves on the season, which is the same total of Mariner wins. The right-hander has no competition for the closing gig, and Seattle should play enough close games — and win enough of them — to make him an outstanding fantasy option throughout 2025.
