2025 Player Outlook
Megill was excellent for Milwaukee in 2024, posting 21 saves, a 2.72 ERA, and 1.01 WHIP across 48 appearances. He held down the fort while Devin Williams was out, and the ninth inning role is all his in 2025. In the ninth inning or later last season, Megill posted a 2.43 ERA 6.6 K/BB ratio, and 1.04 WHIP. Heading into 2025, expect Megill’s overpowering fastball velocity to beautifully set up his curveball, and that bender should flourish yet again (.167 BAA, 55% whiff rate). Milwaukee should be in position to win a lot of ball games in 2025, and Megill should have a relatively long leash in the ninth inning. He’s a phenomenal value at his current ADP, and to be frank, he seems significantly underpriced.

Trevor Megill returned to the mound Wednesday and pitched a scoreless ninth to finish off a 5-1 win over the Tigers.

Trevor Megill (knee) is available on Tuesday night against the Tigers.
There’s been some lingering concern regarding a lingering knee issue that’s cropped up recently for Megill and appears to be impacting his on-field performance. The 31-year-old stopper underwent an MRI that didn’t reveal any structural damage and he’s been available the last couple games. It’s a situation fantasy managers should continue monitoring, but it doesn’t appear that he’ll require a trip to the injured list at the moment.
MLB.com’s Adam McCalvy reports Trevor Megill is pitching through a lingering knee issue.
This certainly could be playing a role in his recent struggles and usage patterns. McCalvy adds that Megill recently underwent an MRI, which didn’t reveal any structural damage. However, it’s a concerning revelation, especially after Megill was unable to put out a ninth-inning fire on Saturday night when he melted down in spectacular fashion, walking three batters and allowing three runs in an ugly blown save. There’s no indication that he’ll require a trip to the injured list, but it’s a development fantasy managers should monitor.
