Crawford also stole a base; his eighth of the season. Two of the runs were driven in on a double off Jose Soriano, and he tied the game in the 11th with a single into right field. Crawford has struggled for most of the summer, but the three-RBI night ups his total to total to 50 with a slash of .263/.353/.355.

The two sides traded the lead back and forth in the early innings on Sunday until Crawfords’ 408-foot (104.5 mph EV) two-run shot off of Jacob deGrom in the fourth inning put the Mariners ahead to stay. He finished the afternoon 1-for-3 and is now slashing .265/.358/.372 with nine long balls and 44 RBI on the season.

Crawford has really been struggling with the bat as of late and has moved down to the eighth spot, but it didn’t matter Friday. He took Robert Garcia deep with Dom Canzone on first and it gave Seattle the victory while giving Crawford his eighth homer of the season. Crawford has been a streaky hitter for most of his career, and this is a nice start to the month of August. Fantasy managers who don’t play in on-base percentage leagues can still better up the middle.

It’s an extremely rare day off for Crawford, who has suited up for pretty much every game this season for Seattle. It’ll be versatile utility specialist Dylan Moore getting a turn at shortstop on Monday evening in West Sacramento.
