Hoffman made it look awfully easy in this one, getting Cal Raleigh on a pop out to third base before striking out Randy Arozarena and Dylan Moore in succession to end the ballgame. The 32-year-old hurler has been brilliant in the ninth inning so far for the Jays, registering a 1.59 ERA, 0.62 WHIP and a 16/1 K/BB ratio over 11 1/3 innings while notching five saves and a pair of victories.

Drake Baldwin’s 345-footer down the left field line spoiled the Blue Jays’ shutout bid against the Braves. It would have been a homer in just four MLB ballparks, according to Statcast. It’s the first homer and second run given up by Hoffman in 10 1/3 innings this season.

Hoffman entered the game in a tie game in the ninth and kept the Orioles scoreless before sealing the win in the bottom of the 10th by stranding the ghost runner. Hoffman allowed just one hit and struck out four and has a 0.96 ERA on the season. There were plenty of concerns about Hoffman’s arm in spring training, but he looks pretty healthy right now.

Hoffman pitched a scoreless ninth and tenth innings with the only runner he allowed being an intentional walk to Wilyer Abreu in the 10th inning. Hoffman struck out three on the day en route to claiming his first win of the season. He has been dynamic for the Blue Jays this season and certainly looks like an upgrade on the 2025 version of Jordan Romano.
