Webb struggled to a calamitous 13.22 ERA, 2.51 WHIP and 14/19 K/BB ratio across 16 1/3 innings (22 appearances) with the Cardinals this season. The 31-year-old lefty has plenty of experience as a reliable big-league reliever, so he should be able to find a new opportunity this offseason.

It clears a roster spot for Andrew Miller, who is coming off the injured list on Thursday. Webb made 22 appearances and posted a rather unhealthy 13.22 ERA and 2.51 WHIP over 16 1/3 innings. If he goes unclaimed, he'll be organizational depth with Triple-A Memphis. 

With Ryan Helsley having worked in the first game of the doubleheader, and Genesis Cabrera already exhausted in this one, Cardinals' manager Mike Shildt turned to Webb to close it out after the Cardinals had scored in the top half of the ninth inning to take the lead. He walked Jedd Gyorko to begin the inning, then got Luis Urias to ground into a double play and struck out Jace Peterson to end the contest. He owns a terrific 2.30 ERA and 1.21 WHIP across 15 2/3 innings with the Cardinals this season -- but is unlikely to usurp the closer's role and therefore holds very little fantasy appeal.

As those numbers imply, the left-hander has been in dominant form since his return. Webb owns a solid 3.51 ERA and 1.05 WHIP across 41 innings at the big-league level this season while also notching one save and four holds.
