Nationals released OF Ramón Flores.
Flores hasn't appeared in the major leagues since the 207 campaign with the Angels. He hit .143/.308/.143 across nine games at Triple-A Rochester prior to his release.
Nationals signed OF Ramon Flores to a minor league contract.
The deal, which was first reported by Daniel Álvarez Montes, does not include an invite to big-league camp. Flores turns 29 later this month and hasn't appeared in the majors since 2017, but he's coming off a strong showing in the Venezuelan Winter League.
Flores signed a minor-league contract with the Twins on Thursday and was assigned to Triple-A Rochester, LaVelle E. Neal III of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Injuries had thinned Rochester's outfield depth, so the organization plunked Flores from the independent-ball ranks for further reinforcement. The 27-year-old has 119 games' worth of MLB experience on his resume, submitting a .204/.281/.256 line across 331 plate appearances.
Flores was traded to the Red Sox on Monday, Chris Cotillo of SB Nation reports.
Flores will serve as organizational outfield depth for the Red Sox. The 26-year-old has appeared in 119 games in the majors over the past three seasons, most notably a 104-game stint with the Brewers in 2016, but has struggled to a .204/.281/.256 slash-line across 331 plate appearances during that stretch.
